It's been a tough season for the Timbers, but they're the odds on favorites to get the three points at home over the Rapids on Friday. Let's start our weekend off on the right foot win some wins!

Odds Overview
The Timbers soccer odds are listed at anywhere from +105 to +110 to get a victory, with a Colorado win quoted at +275 to +300 and a draw at roughly +250.

In terms of a total play, the 'over 2.5 goals' is getting juiced at -125 for now, with the 'under' trading at +105.

Portland Timbers
Following a 2013 season which saw them finish first in the conference in regular season and reach the Western Conference finals in the MLS Cup, the Timbers have fallen off the pace quite a bit so far in 2014.

At time of writing we see Portland all the way down in eighth place in the standings, having only earned 21 points through 19 league matches.

We last saw the Timbers in action on Sunday, but it wasn't too pretty. They couldn't find the back of the net in a 2-0 away loss to Seattle. The visitors only mustered up nine total shots, with only three coming on goal. Not too good when you consider the Sounders had 22 shots, with nine on goal.

Ahead of Friday night's showdown, we have to analyze Portland's home record, which has been quite stunning. Of their 10 matches at Providence Park, seven have ended in draws, with the club picking up one win and two defeats to round things up.

The Timbers' inability to stamp out victories on their home turf is a major reason why they're in the precarious position they're in when it comes to the Western Conference standings. Getting all three points against the Rapids would be a huge step in the right direction.

Colorado Rapids
The Rapids are enjoying a successful season, at least so far. They're in third place in the Western Conference heading into Friday evening's match in Portland.

On Saturday, Colorado fought their way back against Philadelphia to grab a 3-3 draw away from home. They got goals from Dillon Serna, Dillon Powers and Deshorn Brown, with the final two goals coming in the last 10 minutes when the Rapids needed them most.

We'll have to wait and see if Colorado can come out and make life difficult on a desperate Portland outfit. Before placing your sports picks, keep in mind that they've been shaky at best away from home, owning a 2-3-3 record with 11 goals for and 14 goals against.

The Rapids, though, could find success attacking wise against the Timbers, who have surrendered 32 goals already this season, the most of any team in the conference.

Colorado has been getting goals from all over the place this season, but Vicente Sanchez and Deshorrn Brown have been the best sources. They've each scored six goals in league play, but unfortunately for the Rapids they won't have the services of Sanchez, who will serve the final game of his suspension on Friday.

MLS Pick
Though the soccer betting odds suggest the Timbers have an excellent chance of getting a rare win at home, we can't help but feel a solid Colorado side will get at least a point out of this fixture.

We simply have to see some better performances out of Portland before we can recommend them as one of our soccer picks. The Rapids are hanging tough with most everyone they play and we think we'll see the same on Friday.

With that being said, let's add a draw to our soccer picks.
