There’s money on the table just waiting to be picked up when Parma host Catania in Italy's top flight this weekend.

This game has a real chance to win some money, but then again your Humble Handicapper does say that all the time. Football betting is more than an exact science you also have to have a certain amount of heart to make money from the sports books. Therefore this game in Italy's top flight when Parma take on Catania is the prime example of where a little guts is worth more than a lot of brains.

Enough with the anatomy…WHERE’S THE MONEY MIKE?

Parma are winless in their last five games with three defeats and two draws in that run. They've conceded seven goals and scored just two too. They go up against a Catania side who have three wins from their last five and are undefeated in their last two straight games. What's more Catania have scored five goals in their last five games but haven't scored more than one goal since 20th January when they beat Genoa 2-0.

Parma have won just a single match in 2013 and have scored only four goals in their last five matches, what's more Parma have the worst offensive record in Serie A’s top 12 and their highest goal-scorer, Ishak Belfodil, has collected a mere  seven goals this season.

A Catania victory is offered up at 11/4 soccer odds with the sports books and they even have the visitors winning both halves at 6/1. The last two times this clash has seen a clear winner it's been by the same scoreline 2-0, you might want to bet on that score happening again it’s available at 8/1 for Parma and 18/1 to Catania

Adding up the last five meetings between these two sides did see that there's been 14 goals which is just a little less than an average of three goals per game therefore you might want that on 2-1 being the final score which is 7/1 in Parma’s favour or 12/1 for Catania.

Most Recent Serie A Action

In their last match, the visitors won a slight 1-0 home success at the expense of Bologna a win that saw the Sicilians consolidate seventh place, and keep their hopes of European qualification very much alive.

Despite Parma's recent slump you should know that (and bet on) the fact that out of 12 games played at home this season they have only lost the once. They may have had five draws, and draws are not wins, but I don't think that record will be upset any further by Catania. Definitely worth betting on a draw, which is offered up by the bookies at 9/4, I'd stay away from 0-0 even at 8/1 as I don't think this game will end goalless. There has ever been two clean sheets in the last five meetings between the two sides one for Parma and one for Catania and none of those games have ended without a goal. In fact little over 14 months ago the sides were involved in a six goal stunner. I don't think the see the game and 3-3 but it's certainly worth betting on 1-1 at 5/1 and 2-2 at 14/1.

I'm throwing my money behind Parma for my soccer picks and very tempered by the odds of the game being drawn at the 45 and a Parma win at the 90, which is offered at 7/2 by Paddy Power.
