Norwich and West Ham collide on match day 11, a tilt delicately nestled on a tight soccer-betting line and that offers value on both ends of the coin. Join us as we break it down and deliver our free soccer picks.

Sportsbooks are being rather coy with this tilt, nestling it ever so delicately on a tight betting line with odds a hairbreadth apart. Norwich City are listed at +150 to win outright while West Ham United are listed just slightly above at +188 to win outright at Bet365 with the draw trading at +230 soccer odds.

When the soccer odds are this tight, the notion that it could go either way prevails. Tight odds also deliver value on both sides of the coin but the trick is to determine which soccer picks are the correct ones. Towards that endeavour, we have the following analysis for your consideration.

Norwich favoured but West Ham has form

The Canaries are after a disembowelling they’d rather forget sooner rather than later, a 7-0 gut wrenching defeat to Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium. The result marked their fourth defeat in their last five fixtures across all competitions, stressing a conspicuous slide that sees them mired in the relegation zone in 18th place.

Overall, Norwich City are 2-6-6 this season, which includes a 1-2-2 mark at home and a 1-0-4 mark on the road. Alarming issues top to bottom have been exposed over the course of the first ten games, mainly a lack of firepower and a porous backline. Canaries have managed to score only six goals in ten games while, at the same time, conceding 20. That is an average per game of 0.6 goals scored and 2.0 goals allowed. Those are not very encouraging observations or statistics by any stretch of the imagination, compounded further on the back of scoreless efforts in their last three outings. No wonder they are down in the Premier League dumps.

West Ham United don’t appear to be faring any better, sat in 15th following a 2-4-4 record, which includes an abysmal home form of 1-1-3 and a slightly better road form of 1-3-1. But they are jolly well playing better right now and that augurs well for them here.

Crucially, form has seen a bit of an upsurge as the Hammers are undefeated in four of their last five fixtures, three straight across all competitions which include back-to-back scoreless draws in Premier League to Swansea and Aston Villa and a 2-0 victory over Burnley in League Cup action.

Impressively the Hammers personally delivered Spurs a 3-0 defeat at White Hart Lane, kick starting this run of form. While they did suffer defeat in the subsequent domestic, it was a 3-1 home defeat to Man City, only one of few sportsbook favourites to win the title this season and thus the result can’t be held against.

Soccer Betting Verdict: At first glance, it would appear to be a well-matched tilt between two of the league’s stragglers this season that could go either way, hence the tight soccer-betting line. Such occasions aren’t easy to handicap because of all the different variables and possible outcomes. Still, we’ve come to a decision on a sports pick here based on two key factors: form and confidence.

Upon closer inspection, Hammers’ uptake in form and better overall road record would seem to tip the balance in their favour. Man City riding roughshod with the Canaries doesn’t help their confidence or cause – too many critical issues were revealed which can’t possibly be fixed in a week – not to mention the mood hanging over their camp just sunk a notch or two deeper into despair and gloom.

Taking all that into consideration, we’re plumping down to a West Ham United win at +188 at Bet36 as our value soccer pick.
