Manchester United looks to bounce back in week 6 of Premier League action when they take on a very beatable West Bromwich at the Old Trafford. Check out the odds that are currently available on this clash and find out where the value is to be had.

 Betting on the winner

Sunday was an utter debacle for Man United and their fans, a day they’d all much rather forget. Nothing is more humiliating than a 4-1 thumping unless it’s dealt by your odious cross town rivals in a hyped up Manchester derby that United traditionally is expected to shine in brightly. So thoroughly were the Devils outplayed by the Sky Blues that the score was 4-0 in a blink and instantly reprised awful memories most United fans have certainly suppressed of a certain 6-1 defeat of two years ago at the Old Trafford.

One could argue that the outcome wasn’t expected – at least not in such a big way. As poorly Man U started on the season (by Sir Alex Fergusson’s lofty standards) so did Man City – a 3-2 defeat to Cardiff City and a scoreless draw to Stoke City left much to be desired and many scratching their heads in confusion. A narrower result was the overwhelming consensus, not the blue blitz.

Of course, Van Persie’s untimely injury during the pre-game warm-up played a factor in the outcome. His absence was sorely missed and City capitalized. Yet tale told, Man City is a frightfully talented team and Pellegrini’s meticulously revamping was bound to take some time to gel. United was simply unfortunate it finally happened on their date at the Etihad as the Sky Blues united into quite the lethal and fluid force.

So what’s next for the Red Devils? Five rounds into the Premier League and many are looking at David Moyes as the source of the problem. Obviously, it was always going to be rather unlikely that Man U after losing only the greatest manager to ever lead a team would pick up from whence he left off. Things are bound to be different. And that includes their odds to win the title which should start to grow longer as the seasons pushes forward.

Man United vs. West Bromwich Preview and Odds

Well, fortunately for Manchester United they’re slated to face a rather beatable side this weekend in West Bromwich Albion. They are listed at a whopping -350 to win outright at Bet365, a sure sign the world is still safely perched on its axis and United fans can be hopeful of a much-needed return to winning form. West Bromwich Albion don’t appear to pose much of a threat with their hefty +900 soccer odds to win outright. They are 1-2-2 in five laps around the Premier League and although they are enjoying a back-to-back undefeated run (a draw to Fulham and a 3-0 win over Sunderland) because those results have come to the league’s stragglers this season they are a moot point. Undoubtedly, Man U is the correct favourite to win this game and the best pick here.

To add value to our soccer picks, however, betting fans are going to have to scour the markets. Look for odds that portray a comprehensive effort by Man U that will be required to silence their critics, for example betting on the Over 2.5, which is listed at -167. As well, a high-scoring tally such as 3-0 score at +700 or a 4-0 score at +1200 to Man U. A 2-1 score is quoted at +700 but the idea that West Brom would score against Man U when they struggled to score against Everton and Swansea City earlier this season seems hard to imagine.
