Manchester City look to bounce back with a home win over Norwich City. Odds are already in full swing on this fixture and it should come as no surprise to sports bettors that sportsbooks have this one firmly cornered in the home side’s camp. Find out where is the value in such a lopsided market.

Manchester City dealt a setback

Manchester City’s defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday had many ramifications this weekend, a couple of which were a drop down from fifth to seventh in the table and demotion in the title race from first to second short-odds-on-favourites at +250, behind now top faves Chelsea at +188 but ahead of top of the league Arsenal (no love for Arsene? Hmm?) at +400.

Man City now look to bounce back against Norwich City, a side mired in the relegation zone following back-to-back defeats in high-profile games and a scoreless draw to Cardiff City in week 9. Most savvy pundits would not expect Man City to face much resistance in this game with the Sky Blues a perfect 4-0-0 at home so far this season and, in turn, Norwich, a dubious 1-0-3 on the road.

And so they shouldn’t. Man City are installed as the runaway favourites at -600 to win outright across most sportsbooks. It’s a hefty price that promises little value but, on the other hand, it’s as sure a soccer pick as there can be in week 10.

That Norwich City managed a scoreless draw to Cardiff City in order to earn a point was encouraging, particularly as it followed back-to-back morale-sapping defeats to Chelsea (3-1) and Arsenal (4-1). But any mild euphoria gained or what little momentum they might have gathered is going to be short lived. The way sportsbooks are pricing this affair, they’re in store for yet another morale sapper it would seem.

Norwich City are tipped as the whopping +1400 underdogs at Bet365, what constitutes as the biggest price on an underdog in week 10 by a country mile.  The only other four-digit dog in the Soccer odds market on the weekend is West Bromwich (+1100) at Chelsea.

Man City vs. Norwich City predictions and picks:

The only possible outcome that most soccer bettors are going to entertain in this game is a Man City win, but at the hefty price of -600 it promises little return on investment. Therefore, other additional soccer picks are needed to pad your pocket in this game.

Betting on the totals is one option to do just that. Norwich have been passive from top to bottom – they’ve scored only six goals and allowed 13, seven of which were allowed against big clubs of Man City’s ilk. Surely a similar outcome is in order for this matchup with the firepower in Man City’s camp and, thus, taking the Over 2.5 at -188 at Bet365 is an additional pick that we’d recommend.

The double result market offers additional angles for profit to consider such as Man City to win both halves, which is listed at -163; and a draw-Man City win, which is going for +275. Now Joe Hart has had some shaky moments this season – the Torres goal springs to mind – but he should have his wits about him for this game and therefore we suggest the former outcome as a bonus pick.

Soccer Free Picks: Man City to win outright at -600, Over 2.5 at -188 and Man City to win both halves at -163
