The current holders of the English Premier League trophy, Manchester City had A huge loss last time they played when they went down 2-0 away to Everton. That loss coupled with the fact that Manchester United seem to be winning every single game they get involved in in the league, for the record they have only lost three games all season, means that City can pretty much wave goodbye to the trophy that they won in such spectacular fashion on the last day of last season. City are currently 94/1 to retain the title and if you think that's funny you should know that Manchester United are 1/100 to reclaim the trophy.

Enough with the league trophy…WHERE’S THE MONEY MIKE?
Newcastle by comparison will be scratching their heads in much the same way your Humble Handicapper is after they failed to beat Wigan. In that game the magpies should have been playing against 10 men for the best part of the match and the eventual goal that gave Wigan all three points came from an unseen handball and followed an unjustified goalkick. Newcastle United and the Toon Army will feel aggrieved by the way things went for them in their last Premier League match but not half as angry as Mrs Richardson was as she saw the shoe fund take a hell of a kick.
If there's any justice in the footballing world Newcastle would be gifted three points in their clash with Manchester City, however you very rarely get exactly what you deserve in football and I think Newcastle will be staring at back-to-back defeats.
Good news for City
Manchester City have only lost once at home all season scoring 31 goals and conceding just 11, that sort of goal difference suggests 3-1 victory for City, which is available at 10/1.
Newcastle, by comparison, have only won one game away from home all season scoring 18 goals and conceding 31. The Geordies’ type of away goal difference would suggest the game will end 3-2 to City which is certainly worth adding to your soccer picks at 33/1.
However City have something to play for even if it's just keeping pace with Manchester United but Newcastle will be more concerned with their Europa League future then with Premier League survival as they are currently six points safe of the dreaded dotted line, and while your Humble Handicapper's patented rule of six says that they can't count their Premier League survival chickens just yet there are seven sides in a worse position than Newcastle at this stage of the season and I think it's highly unlikely that five of them will overtake Newcastle, with just eight games left to play.
Newcastle are 25/1 to be relegated but are 3/1 on a top-10 finish.
If that's not convincing enough you should know that looking at the last five meetings between these two sides Manchester City have won all five of them and have outscored Newcastle 13 goals to 4. Newcastle have yet to score more than one goal against City in those last five games and City have scored three goals on three separate occasions against Newcastle.
If you want to go wild why not bet on Newcastle winning at 10/1 but I think a draw is realistically the best Newcastle and hopeful which is available at 9/2. If you're drunk enough to back an away victory why not go all out crazy and back them reversing the score from the last time the sides met and winning 3-1 which is available at 125/1, but those betting odds tell you how likely it is.
