A showdown between top three sides in Manchester City and Chelsea is on the agenda this weekend. We've examined the soccer odds and have come up with the best soccer picks for this match of greats.

Manchester City vs. Chelsea

Odds Overview

The Citizens are the hosts and are therefore posted up at even soccer betting odds to get the win on Sunday.

As for Chelsea, which trail City by four points in the standings right now, they're at 53/20 to notch a win in Manchester, with a draw at 13/5.

Manchester City

A 4-0 FA Cup victory over Leeds last weekend came at the perfect time for a Citizens squad that was having a hard go of things in the league.

City is currently on a three-game run in which they've failed to notch a win, having tied QPR an Liverpool before a 3-1 loss to Southampton.

That's why the comfortable performance in the cup was so crucial. Sergio Aguero had a brace, and Yaya Toure and Carlos Tevez also got goals, as the Citizens breezed past the Championship outfit and into the quarter-finals of the competition.

We shouldn't have to tell you how much tougher this visit of the Blues will be. The last time these teams met up, it finished as a 0-0 draw down in London.

While Manchester United is in the driver's seat in the Premier League, currently holding a 12-point cushion, crazier things have happened before. The Citizens have a chance to put some pressure on the Red Devils and it will all start this weekend.

It wasn't easy, but the Blues did what they needed to do in their second leg clash with Sparta Prague.

A stoppage-time goal from Eden Hazard tied the match up at 1-1, and Chelsea's 1-0 advantage from the first leg meant they were able to secure advancement to the next round of the Europa League.

Busy with Europe and the FA cup, the Blues haven't played a Premier League fixture in quite some time. Their last domestic match came at home against Wigan Athletic, a game in which they won easily (4-1).

Funnily enough, it's not any of Chelsea's new signings that lead the team in scoring It's not Hazard, or Oscar or even forward-thinking players like Fernando Torres or Juan Matta. No, it's long-time servant Frank Lampard – he's scored 11 league goals so far this term.

As for Torres, he has his moments, but his overall scoring return since moving over from Liverpool has been underwhelming at best. The club dished out huge amounts of money for the Spanish striker, and so far he's failed to match that price-tag.

Premier League Pick

Obviously both sides would love three points here, but the extra days of rest and recovery for City could prove to sway the result into their favor this weekend.

The Blues were able to give some rest to Hazard, as well as the likes of Ashley Cole and David Luiz, but they were still pushed to the limit by the Czechs.

With City having lost just once at home in Premier League action this season, we like their chances of getting a result. The duo of Aguero and Tevez should cause problems throughout, while you can expect the likes of Toure and David Silva to have a big influence on proceedings as well.

This should be a fantastic 90 minutes of soccer, but in the end we are taking Roberto Mancini's side to squeak out a narrow win. They will therefore be our recommendation for your sports picks.
