The Citizens are in a precarious position in their group, so they desperately need all three points in this week's clash with CSKA Moscow. Let's run over the soccer betting odds for this Champions League battle.

Odds Overview
With soccer betting odds boards pricing them out in the -375 to -450 range, the Citizens appear to be a in a great position to get the victory on Wednesday. They've stuttered in the group so far, so that will be welcome news for City supporters.

CSKA Moscow is listed at +750 to get a shock win, but some outlets go as high as +1100, which is somewhat of a riduculous range. There's value to be had with your soccer picks here, but that's only if you think the Russian side can stir up some magic.

Manchester City
Heading into this past weekend, the Citizens had not been in great form. They blew a two-goal lead against CSKA Moscow in last week's Champions League encounter, lost to West Ham 2-1 in the Premier League, and then fell at home to Newcastle in the Capital One Cup.

It's not too often you see a team as talented as City go winless in three matches, but that's exactly what happened, so Manuel Pellegrini may not have been as confident as previously thought heading into a showdown with Manchester United on Sunday.

The Citizens had to get a good result against their rivals in order to jump start their season again, and they did just that.

It wasn't pretty, but City deserved the win over United. The Citizens had quite a few calls go against them, and should have been rewarded at least a couple penalties. Fortunately for them, they still got a goal, thanks to Sergio Aguero's fine finish, and that ended up being the difference in the 1-0 triumph.

Now it's time to focus on the Champions League campaign, which actually hasn't been going too well for City. Right now the Citizens are in third place in the group with only two points through three fixtures. Bayern Munich is practically a lock to advance (already at nine points), so it's going to be between City and Roma for the second spot. A win Wednesday would go a long way for City's hopes of advancing.

CSKA Moscow
So far in Group E, CSKA Moscow has earned only one point in three fixtures, though the point they did earn was very impressive indeed.

Down 2-0 against a giant in Manchester City, the Russians fought back and evened up the honors at 2-2. As a result, they've notched their first point in Europe, and will be hoping that can be a catalyst for some more surprising results.

Following that draw, CSKA Moscow tied Ufa 3-3 in the league and then topped Torpedo Moskva in the cup. However, they couldn't keep the unbeaten run going, falling 1-0 at home to their biggest competitor: Zenit St. Petersburg.

As a result of that loss, CSKA Moscow now finds themselves seven points back for first place in the Russian Premier League. That being said, their full attention will be on Europe now, as they're still the smallest slimmer of hope that they can move on.

Heading into Wednesday, CSKA Moscow has failed to grab a win in seven consecutive Champions League matches, dating back to a previous campaign. That doesn't bode well for this trip to the Etihad.

Champions League Pick
With our soccer picks, the only way to go is City.

Beating a rival in United is going to do wonders for confidence, and you also have to think the Citizens will be looking to make amends after blowing a lead against this same CSKA Moscow team in their previous Champions League fixture. That surely left a sour taste in Pellegrini's men's mouths, so we expect them to be at full focus this week.

Moscow has talent, no one's denying that, but we expect City to dominate this match from start to finish, and therefore they will get our backing. Pick the Citizens to win by two or more goals to get a better return.

Pick: Manchester City 3 CSKA Moscow 0
