Lee Phelps from William Hill is looking at the odds for the Palace vs Man City game, with the Mancunians eyeing up a return to winning ways. Here are his thoughts on the match and his free betting pick.

There is nothing left to take Manchester City’s attention away from the Premier League. No Champions League, no cups, just finishing second and putting as much pressure on Chelsea as possible. Interestingly, former Arsenal title winner Martin Keown once told me that once you know you can’t be champions again, it’s difficult to motivate yourself to finish second, but that is exactly what City must do.

Crystal Palace
The Eagles are safe for another season, which is a great achievement. They have gathered 19 points from the 10 games under Alan Pardew having managed 17 in the previous 20 matches. Twelve of those points have come away from home, winning four and losing one of their road trips, so it’s been two wins and a draw at Selhurst Park.

They have some injury and suspension problems this week, so keep this in mind when looking at the soccer odds; with Joe Ledley a doubt for Monday night’s kick-off in London. The Welshman picked up a hip injury while playing for his country and was back at Palace on Wednesday receiving treatment. The Eagles are set to train fully on Saturday and hope Ledley will be able to take part. With Mile Jedinak serving his final game of a four-match ban and Jordon Mutch still out injured, Ledley's presence will be hugely missed against Manuel Pellegrini's men if he fails to prove his fitness.

Marouane Chamakh is also understood to be making progress from a hamstring problem which has kept him out for more than a month and the club will make a decision on Saturday. Those omissions are a worry, but even more of a problem are the defensive woes. They have conceded the second most goals at home (20) and have played less games than anyone else, although it has slightly improved under the new regime.

Manchester City
The Easter Monday trip to south London has taken on new significance, as City could lie in fourth place by the time they kick off the last Premier League fixture of the Easter weekend. Eleven months ago, Yaya Toure and Edin Dzeko were the heroes of Selhurst Park.

Now, the Ivorian and Bosnian cannot be sure they will make the starting line-up at Palace. Toure missed the win over West Brom last week, with Pellegrini claiming he had an achilles injury – only for him to play a full part in Ivory Coast’s two friendlies in the last week. Toure has since hinted that he may announce his international retirement – whether that is to focus on regaining his City form or to look for a move overseas remains to be seen.

Dzeko has netted just six goals this season and been pushed into third place in the pecking order by new boy Wilfried Bony, but did rattle in a hat-trick for his country against Andorra. One quick word on Manchester City in play goal scorer bets. Manchester City have used every substitution available in all of their 43 competitive matches this season and those substitutes have contributed 16 goals and assists this season in the Premier League; more than any other team. So if you’re betting in play, look at the midfield and attacking subs as the ‘next live scorer’.

Soccer picks
I think Manchester City win at Crystal Palace, as they have in the last seven straight games, and many will see the 1.7 (7/10) about an away as giving away money. Given their last away performance at Burnley, some may not want to trust them at that price.

I’m looking at goal scorers, but I’m veering away from Sergio Aguero, who is two goals away from 100 for the Blues. I’m looking at Yaya Toure for my soccer pick, taking advantage of the weakened Palace midfield and repeating what he did last season.

Free soccer pick: Yaya Toure goal in a Manchester City win 4.5 (7/2)
