Don't expect too many goals when Levante host Sevilla in Spain's top flight next weekend, but you can still make money with your Humble Handicapper’s soccer picks.

La Liga Betting Action

Considering how darn exciting football can be it's a bit of a damp squib looking at the recent history of levante and Sevilla. Looking at the last four meeting between these two sides it's been two draws and two wins by a single goal. That’s 0-0 once, 1-0 once and a 1-0 win for Levante twice. A repeat of the 1-0 is offered up this time round at 15/2, while the 1-1 is at 6/5 and 0-0 is at 10/1. Your Humble Handicapper certainly wouldn't begrudge you a cheeky little bet on 0-0 at those odds, but the lion's share of his (ever loving wife's) money isn't going there.

Enough With the Lack of Goals…WHERE’S THE MONEY MIKE?

1-1 is the most likely score according to the bookies although they are offering up 1-0 to Sevilla at 15/2, certainly worth a cheeky bet also.

Last season, it’s worth mentioning last season as it’s too early in the day of this season to compare stats, Sevilla finished 9th with a decent 50 points tally. They managed to win 14 games but lost 16, while drawing just 8. I’d say that tells you to stay away from a draw even at 9/4. Levante were two places behind and four points worse off. While the gap between these two sides was hardly as deep as a well or as wide as a church door it’s interesting to note that Levante lost just as many games but drew two more than Sevilla.

We’ve already mentioned the draw but the winning soccer odds point towards Sevilla at 6/4, while Levante doing the do is at 17/10.

If the half time / full time odds floats your boats you should know that the bookies have Sevilla winning both halves is at 17/5 Levante doing the same at 18/5 and the game going draw/draw (that way it would if it ended 0-0) at 17/4. So if you are going to back 0-0 why not stick some cash on draw/draw too.

If it sways you either way, or if you’re just feeling a bit fruity the odds are very even –stevens on the game being drawn at the 45 and there being a clear winner on the 90. It’s 5/1 each way with Paddy Power and 11/2 with BetVictor, for both sides.

You know how I said that his game won’t see many goals ... The bookies seem to concur as they have it ending under 2.5 at 4/5 and going over at 10/11. Those are hardly inspiring betting odds for our soccer picks no matter how you slice them, so let’s not waste any more time there.

If you want to bet on the winning margin, the odds start at 16/5 with Levante winning by 1, then Sevilla to win by 1 at 10/3. The bookies then think that it would be a score draw at 16/5 before we have odds at 7/1 on either side winning by two goals.

I can only see one goal in this game and one outcome. (I also think we’ll see the home side winning both halves)

Free Soccer Picks: Levante win 1-0, available at 17/2 with BetVictor.
