Lazio

Humbled after a 4-1 away loss to Hellas Verona, the Eagles have responded by going undefeated in there consecutive Serie A matches, while also advancing at the expense of Parma in the Coppa Italia.

During the streak they've beaten Inter Milan (1-0), tied Bologna (0-0), and overcome Udinese (3-2). That's helped Lazio go up to ninth in the table and has put them within striking distance of the fifth spot.

In the recent triumph over Udinese, the dramatics were saved for late. Lazio was down 2-1 with 10 minutes to go, but an own goal from Andrea Lazzari and then a last-gasp effort from Hernanes gave the Eagles the unlikely win at the Stadio Friuli.

Probably Lazio's most two influential players this season have been Miroslav Klose and Antonio Candreva.

Klose, who scored 15 league goals last term, leads the team with five goals so far in 2013/14, while Candreva has contributed five goals and five assists to the cause. The pair will hope to make their presence felt against Juventus in a crucial encounter this Saturday.

Juventus

The Old Lady were left frustrated during the week, as they fell to Roma in the Coppa Italia. Juventus simply couldn't find their way past a very sound defensive back-line and Arturo Vidal and company were actually held without a shot on goal.

For a team as talented as Juventus, that's a stunning statistic and amazing achievement from the Yellow-Reds.

It was the first time The Old Lady had lost since the second week in December. They'll be aiming to get right back on track here in Serie A action, where they've been pulling away from the rest of the competition.

At the moment Juventus is top of the table and ahead of second-place Roma by eight points. Away from home, they've recorded eight victories, one draw and only one loss, scoring 20 goals and allowing in eight.

With Carlos Tevez and Fernando Llorente starting on the bench mid-week, one has to figure both will be back in the starting XI for this weekend's clash at Stadio Olimpico. Don't bank on Juventus finishing without a shot on target once again with those two back on the pitch.

Serie A Pick

Juventus has been a force so far this season and are sure to get a large portion of the public to back them at a reasonable price in the soccer odds.

However, Lazio has looked better as of late and we believe they'll make things difficult for The Old Lady, especially since the Eagles have held serve well at home throughout the campaign, losing just twice overall.

Lazio has held opponents to only eight goals at home and they're going to need to be that good against the likes of Tevez, Vidal and Llorente this weekend. We expect them to raise their game once again and hold Juventus to a draw for our free soccer picks.
