Can Juventus get their Champions League campaign back on track after a stuttering start? Join us for an early preview of Juventus vs. Copenhagen, the reverse leg between these two sides in Group B action, complete with value soccer picks.

Sportsbooks expected Juventus to challenge Real Madrid for top spot but since that option is no longer available (Real Madrid have all but clinched it), they are mired instead in the battle for second place and group qualification in turn; a soccer betting market on offer with Juventus installed as the -275 favourites to clinch second place well ahead of Galatasaray (currently second) at +200 and Copenhagen at rather disingenuous +2800 soccer odds at Bet365.

Early sports betting markets (a full week ahead of Wednesday’s kick-off time) have installed Juventus as the -600 favourites to win outright while listing Copenhagen as the massive underdogs at +1400 and the draw at +650. Quite the lopsided market given the current status quo, which clearly implies bookies are in fact expecting Juventus to get back on track in the next round.

Juventus propping up Group B

So far their European bid has left much to be desired. Right from the start they failed to capitalise on the clear “on paper” advantage over Copenhagen and Galatasaray, astonishingly succumbing to back-to-back draws instead. In the first leg of their bout with Real Madrid they fell to a 2-1 away defeat but, luckily, bounced back by holding Real Madrid to a 2-2 draw in Turin.

The Old Lady currently props up Group B, on three points with a 0-3-1 record. The glaring issue largely responsible for this disadvantageous position has been an inept offense that combined for only six goals and a questionable defence that allowed seven goals (almost two goals per game) over the course of four matches. Fortunately for Juventus sportsbooks haven’t put much stock into their performance thus far.The difference between second and fourth place amounts to just a point and that puts a premium on a win over Copenhagen, as it would see a reshuffle in the group’s hierarchy.

Copenhagen’s lofty ambitions

Currently third in Group B but level on points with Galatasaray, Copenhagen are very much in the fight for second place, but their tenure is precariously perched, on the verge of toppling over on the outcome of this match as evinced by their hefty Soccer odds.

Copenhagen began their European bid against Juventus and for the so-called minnows of the group they delightfully surprised, proving to have the measure of the Serie A champions as they held them to a 1-1 draw in Denmark. Perhaps even more surprising, the Danes really took it to the Bianconeri as they tried to take the home win. But alas their attacks fell short of the mark.

Reality set in against Real Madrid and Galatasaray on the road, heavy defeats that exemplify the gap in quality that surface at times in Europe’s top-flight competitions. Yet with their campaign in dire straits so, all credit to them as they bounced back against Galatasaray at home on match day 4 with a crucial 1-0 victory that salvaged their hopes. Now they hope to build on that result with a positive outcome in Turin. Can they do it despite the odds?

Juventus vs. Copenhagen betting tips and picks:

Given Bianconeri’s deposit so far in Champions League it might seem surprising to find them so generously priced at -600 soccer odds to win outright but recent form on the domestic front has taken flight, so much so that bookies are clearly expecting that appetite for winning will transcend continental boundaries.

Juventus are undefeated in their last five matches overall and are enjoying a four-match winning streak in Serie A which includes a gauntlet throwing win over title threats Napoli 3-0. In fact, all four victories were clean sheets and importantly they scored 10 goals over the course of those matches. Clearly, Juventus is finally hitting form at the right time and that doesn’t augur well for Copenhagen at all. All told, Juventus should win this game but at -600 soccer odds additional value picks need to be found to make it worth your while. So given Juventus’s ability to score they should score more goals than they did in the first leg of this tilt and as such we are looking at the Over 2.5 at -200.
