Good old Inter are very much in the following pack in Italy, they sit 4th in the table on 26 points, and while that’s a frustrating 8 points off the top spot (currently held by Juventus) it is pretty much bang in the middle of the four teams on 20+ points in Italy’s top flight. We’re 13 games into this Serie A League and a points tally of 26 is nothing to be ashamed of, however with four teams bobbing around the same place and fighting for two top four spots Inter can ill afford to be nice to Sampdoria.
For the record Inter are 5/12 on a top four finish, the third favourite with the bookies. And while we’re at it they are also on soccer odds of 40/1 to win the league. 40/1 might sound like wild odds and not the sort that any top tipster would pick but that does pit them fourth favourite with the sportsbooks, which must count of something.
Enough with the top of the table…WHERE’S THE MONEY MIKE?
OK without any further ado, the soccer odds on Inter winning this one are 2/5, the draw is at 4/1 and a Sampdoria win is at 8/1. That’s pretty decisive odds.
You may wonder why. It’s almost a completely opposite season for Sampdoria. They sit third from bottom, on just 10 points, one point above bottom team Catania. Their goal tally of -9 is pretty bad but is the best of the bottom four, and the second best of the bottom six.
They’ve let in a massive 23 goals so far in 13 games (almost an average of two per game) which is as bad as Catania, and five worse than second last Chievo, but they have scored 14 – a decent return for a team so far down the table.
That is just going to get worse on Sunday.
If you want to know how one sided the sportsbooks have this match, just take a look at the best soccer odds on Inter winning both halves, which are set at 21/20, while Sampdoria wining both halves is at 18/1. This means Inter will win, the only question is by what score.
It may seem unlikely but Inter actually fare better against Sampdoria away from home than at home. Away they’ve won 2-0 in their last two encounters while at home it’s won one drawn two. The win was also a close run thing with a final score of 3-2. 3-2 is at 30/1 this time round, while the previous games’ 1-1 and 0-0 are at soccer odds of 8/1 and 14/1 respectively.
Inter are still going to win, but Sampdoria will score.
Free Prediction: 2-1 to Inter and the bets soccer odds on that score are at 17/2
