Juventus are sitting pretty pretty on top of the Italian league table after 29 games. The champions elect have 65 points with their closest possible competition, Napoli nine points behind on 56. You would then have to look even further down the table all the way to sixth place to find the competition for this weekend's match. Inter-Milan are one of three sides tied on 47 points with Roma and Lazio being the bread in the Inter-Milan sandwich. Things are very tight in a mini league of five sides just outside the Italian top four as just six points separates ninth place Udinese and fifth place Roma. Basically that means that Inter have a lot more to play for than Juventus.
Enough with the table places…WHERE’S THE MONEY MIKE?
There's an advantage in that this match is being played in Milan, not so much that Milan have phenomenally good home record with seven wins four draws and three defeats but it’s because Juventus drop more points away from home. The champions elect have won 11 of their 15 home games this season whereas they dropped points in five of their 14 away games.
Juventus scored over twice as many goals away from home as they have conceded while Inter have scored 22 but conceded 17. Crunching those numbers suggests that this game is going to end 2-1 to Juventus something which can be added to your soccer picks at the price of 7/1.
Let's have a look at history
Recent history shows us that Juventus have won four of their last five games and that other game was a 1-1 draw away to Napoli. I reckon a repeat of that last score, offered up at 5/1 by the soccer odds makers is the best that Milan can hope for.
Inter-Milan have two wins, two defeats and a draw in their last five games but they do seem the sort of side that can score lots and conceived lots. They scored four against Spurs in their last game but conceded three when they played Tottenham at White Hart Lane.
Looking at the head to head meetings between these two sides Juventus have come out on top three times and Inter have triumphed twice. I suggest you discount one of those as it was a 7-6 stunner back in August 2011 in Milan's favour, however that was a club friendly and the odds of 800/1 show you how likely a repeat of that score is.
Milan did beat Juventus 3-1 the last time they played back in November, a victory that was all the sweeter for being an away win but a repeat of that score is offered up at 33/1. I think was a lot more likely is a repeat of the previous game’s 2-0 which is at 7/1.
I don't think Juventus were worried too much about taking all three points from this match. Most online sportsbooks agree as they have an away win at 6/5, a home win at 9/4 and a draw at 12/5.
