The Premier League is galloping towards the finish line. Match day 35 looms on the weekend and we rundown the weekend’s betting card all while spotting top matches for your soccer picks

Premier League Match Day 34 Recap
Leicester City’s winning streak finally stuttered on a draw to West Ham United at King Power in the last lap, opening the door for Tottenham Hotspur to close the gap at the top of the table to five points. The heat is well and truly on now with four games left on the season. It should be quite the race to the finish line now, echoed resoundingly by Premier League outrights that slash Leicester City’s odds from -700 last week to -225 to win the title and, in turn, shorten Tottenham’s odds from +500 to +175 to win the title. Visit my write-up on day 34 right here.

Essentially, it’s now a two-horse race between the Foxes and Spurs. Man City settled on a draw to Newcastle United at St. James Park, a result that effectively puts them out of the title race and has the slip to the edge of the Top 4. Arsenal, meanwhile, bounced back to winning form over West Bromwich Albion at the Emirates, but the Gunners’ title bid is a pipedream at this point in time. The Gunners can be backed at whopping +10000 odds to triumph while the Citizens can be backed at +50000, a pair of price tags that spell ‘unlikely’ in no uncertain terms.

Elsewhere, Newcastle United’s bid to survive in top-flight was buoyed by the draw to Man City while Sunderland took a concentrated step forward behind a 3-0 win over Norwich City. Indeed, the battle at the bottom of the table is sizzling in its own right.

Here we look at the complete Premier League odds board according to bet365 for match day 35 and below we spot the must bet fixtures on your soccer picks.

Table 1: Premier League Match Day 35 Soccer Odds According to Bet365

Man City vs. Stoke City

Aston Villa vs. Southampton

Bournemouth vs. Chelsea

Liverpool vs. Newcastle United

Sunderland vs. Arsenal

Leicester City vs. Swansea

Tottenham vs. West Bromwich Albion

Aston Villa vs. Southampton
Aston Villa’s run of poor form appears to have no end. Bleak doesn’t even cover it: A nine-game losing streak that features just five goals scored and a walloping 24 goals conceded. Crikey. To say Villa fans have absolutely nothing to cheer about is the understatement of the season. In any event, Villa, quite rightly, are installed as the ridiculous +650 home underdogs. That’s how unlikely a home win looms at the weekend at the expense of Southampton, sat 8th in the table and competing for a Top 6 finish.

By that same token, a trip to Villa Park means an almost certain three points for any visitor. That’s good news for Southampton, who could use all three points. Last lap saw the Saints settle on a 1-1 draw to Everton at Goodison Park, a result that saw them slip down from seventh place in the table and overtaken by Liverpool (game in hand), who ran out 4-0 winners over Everton in midweek play. Backing the Saints to win at -188 on your soccer picks has to be the smart play here, if not the only play.

Liverpool vs. Newcastle United
Rafa Benitez is set to return to his old stomping ground when he and the Magpies descend on Anfield this weekend. What might have been a bittersweet reunion is sure to be overshadowed by more pressing business: Newcastle United’s bid to survive in Premier League. Last lap, the Magpies received a nice boon behind a 1-1 draw to Man City. Beggars can’t be choosers, so they say, and Benitez will be happy with a point from a fixture few believed Newcastle United had a prayer in. Newcastle United’s prospects also were improved when the relegation battle tightened after Sunderland defeated Norwich City.

As it is, Norwich are in 17th spot with 31 points, Sunderland (game in hand) in 18th with 30 points and Newcastle United in 19th spot with 29 points. Still, survival does seem to be a long way off for the Magpies and, more worryingly, everything Jurgen Klopp and the Reds touch right now seems to turn to gold. They ran out 4-0 winners in the midweek Merseyside derby, an outcome that improves their form to four games undefeated (three wins and a draw) in Premier League.

Add to that European action and they are undefeated in their last six across all competitions (four wins and two draws). In all likelihood that run of form is going to continue at the expense of Rafa Benitez and Newcastle United’s survival bid. Only a wildly optimistic Newcastle United fan will tickle the visitors’ large soccer odds.

Leicester City vs. Swansea City
Last week’s giveaway to West Ham United cost the Foxes not only their supreme position in Premier League outrights but also Jamie Vardy, who’s set to miss this fixture for two bookings in the rip-roaring 2-2 draw to West Ham United at King Power. Whether Vardy’s absence will prove costly remains to be seen, but the Foxes will be gunning for the win over the Swans after the manner in which the Spurs threw down the gauntlet in a comprehensive 4-0 win over Stoke City at the Pottery. Tottenham have well and truly turned on the heat and the pressure and the onus is now on Leicester City to bounce back to winning form.

On paper, this is a matchup that the Foxes should take. Their record at King Power stands firmly on a 10-6-1 mark and includes 28 goals scored and just seven conceded through 17 fixtures. On the flipside, the Swans, who are coming off a 3-0 loss to Newcastle United in their last outing,  are a woeful 3-5-9 on the away with just 9 goals scored and 27 conceded. By all accounts, losing Vardy at this pivotal juncture is a bit of a setback but Claudio Ranieri’s side isn’t built around just one player. Their season is the consummate team effort.

They are still in the driver’s seat even though the Spurs have closed the gap to just five points and a win on Sunday over the Swans will see the Foxes move ahead by eight points at least for the day. The Spurs close out match day 34 with a Monday date with West Bromwich Albion, which is a trickier matchup than the soccer betting market would have it. Back Leicester City to win at -133 on your soccer picks.

Tottenham vs. West Bromwich
In the interest of the title race, a win by the Spurs here would be just the thing to spice it up down the stretch. The Spurs certainly have form right now and they are coming off a sublime win away to Stoke City, two aspects that have Mauricio Pochettino’s side, quite rightly, favored in this must-win fixture. However, at the -450 soccer odds most sportsbooks are hanging the Spurs they do seem a touch overpriced.

If anything, it looks to be a bit of an overreaction to the last lap in which the Spurs crushed the Potters and, in turn, the Gunners thwarted Tony Pulis’ side at the Emirates. It’s worth noting, West Brom held the Spurs to a 1-1 draw in the reverse of this fixture. As well, they’ve lost just one of the last five meetings with the Spurs (a win and three draws). West Brom have little to play for now with the season winding down, but they might fancy their chances at White Hart Lane, if only to throw a spanner in the works as the title race between the Foxes and Spurs continues.

In all likelihood, the Spurs will win. However, on the off-chance – anything can happen when the pressure is on – this fixture could serve up an upset of sorts. Backing West Brom for the outright win at +1400 on your soccer picks is probably madness, but a double chance bet where West Brom is trading on +333 soccer odds to win or draw might not be so unreasonable as the market makes out. Of course, it’s still a long shot soccer pick so don’t go betting the farm on it.
