The rain in the UK may have stopped (some) play in the EPL but there’s still soccer money waiting to be won out there if you know where to look; and your Humble Handicapper certainly does.

The Big continental match that has caught my money winning eye this weekend (well next Monday local time) is Hellas Verona v Torino over in Italy’s Serie A.

Verona will be quite chuffed by their last outing as they managed to come from two goals down to force a draw with Italy’s league leader Juventus. Carlos Tevez had put the visitors in front, then added a second but former Juve striker Luca Toni pulled one back and with seconds remaining of injury time, Juanito header denied Juve the chance to go 11 points clear at the top.

What does the table tell us?

At time of press there are just two places separating these two sides in the Italian top flight table. Verona sit a little prettier in 6th while Torino are two worse off in 8th.

Verona have won 11 of their 23 games this term while Torino have managed just 8 victories (Verona have marked up just 3 three draws while Torino have managed 9). You may well be tempted to back a draw at 9/4. Specifically 0-0 at 10/1 or 1-1 at 6/1, but remember your Humble Handicapper says a draw is always just a goal away from not being a draw (as Fulham will agree after Wednesday night).

Stay away from the draw.

Verona have just two draws from their last ten, and Torino have three. What’s more Verona’s only draw from their last five was their surprise leveller with Juventus, a game that they really should have lost. I think we’ll see a winner don’t you?

It’s a tough time to be a Verona fan as they have just one win from their last five matches (and two of those defeats came at home). Hellas have conceded 10 in their last five, and scored just four, (not keeping a clean sheet since before January 12th).

Torino have also had quite a checkered run, but have managed two wins in their last five (one home and one away). Still the bookies think they have the measure of this match, as they have Verona at 6/4 win it and Torino at 15/8. You Humble Handicapper is sure it’s going to be a close one as the last meeting between these sides ended drawn 2-2 (a repeat of that score is offered up at 14/1 this time round) and the two previous games between these two sides (back in Serie B) both ended in the away side’s favour, 4-1 to Verona and 3-1 to Torino.

The Half time / Full time soccer odds always speak volumes about the chances of the respective teams, and therefore are a great clue to the best way to win big soccer money from the sportsbooks.

The shortest Half time / Full time odds are on Verona at the 45 and at the 90 at 11/4. Close up behind that is Torino winning come the half time oranges and again come the final whistle that’s at 4/1. We then have draw/draw at best soccer odds of 17/4. Your Humble Handicapper is smart enough to see the pattern in that sequence.

Prediction: Hellas Verona get back on track with a 2-1 victory available at best soccer Italian odds of 9/1 with BetVictor.
