Roma has been playing at an exceptionally high level recently. Let's see if they can keep it going when they face Hellas Verona way from home this weekend. Join us as we find our soccer picks for this match-up.

Odds Overview

Though not playing in Rome, the Yellow-Reds are still favored in and around the -130 area to get all three points on Sunday.

Verona is in the +375 to +425 range, while a draw is approaching +300. These soccer betting odds could change further, so keep checking the odds to track any live line movements.

Hellas Verona

On the horizon is part three of what's been a grueling stretch for the Mastiffs.

Up first was a home date with Napoli, which they lost 3-0. A week later they lost 0-1 to AC Milan at the San Siro, failing to find the back of the net once more.

Now Verona returns home, hoping to reverse their fortunes and stay near the top of the Serie A table. They're still in sixth place, but they're tied on 32 points with Inter Milan for fifth, the last European spot available.

The Mastiffs' terrific home form has been what's kept them competitive in Serie A. They've won eight of ten matches on their own pitch, with the two losses coming to Napoli and Chievo Verona. They've managed wins over the likes of AC Milan and Lazio at the Stadio Marc'Antonio Bentegodi.

If you're not too familiar with Verona, the players to watch are Luca Toni, Jorginho Frello, Juan Manuel Iturbe and Romulo. Toni leads the team with nine league goals and six assists.

AS Roma

Aside from the away loss to Juventus, Roma has been in incredible form throughout the 2013/14 campaign. They're currently in second place in Serie A, with 14 wins, five draws and one defeat through 20 fixtures so far.

Since that one loss, the Yellow-Reds have dominated, beating Genoa 4-0 and Livorno 3-0 at home.

They were also able to get their revenge against Juventus with a 1-0 win in the Coppa Italia. Gervinho scored on a wonderful flick late to give Roma a wonderful win, one that's sure to give them even more confidence going forward.

Doing well in the league is still high on the list. The Yellow-Reds are still eight points back of the league leaders, so they really need the full three points to keep pace. With the way Juventus has been performing, anything other than a victory would be considered a disappointment for Roma.

Just how have they been doing away from Stadio Olimpico? Through nine matches, they've logged five wins, three draws and one loss, while scoring 15 goals and allowing only eight. Defensively, Roma has been amazing all season, surrendering just 10 goals overall, by far the best record in all of Italy.

Serie A Pick

Roma has been in great form and their defensive record has been spectacular, but let's not forget how solid Verona has been this season either.

Even in spite of the Mastiffs' recent setbacks, they have been excellent at home and they're not going to make it easy for the Yellow-Reds. Not in the slightest.

Our best recommendation is to back a draw in your soccer picks for this situation. We expect a lot of people to get in sucked in by this good price on Roma, but ultimately we expect Verona to get at least a point out of this Serie A showdown.

Pick: Hellas Verona 1 AS Roma 1
