You should know that Real Madrid are on a 12 match unbeaten run looking at all competitions and they’ve only dropped points twice, recording 10 victories and two draws. What’s more here has been seven previous occasions where Real Madrid have taken a 3-0 advantage into a second leg and unsurprisingly they've made it through every single time.
In the first leg your humble handicapper backed a home victory and that was exactly what happened.
Enough with the “I told you so”…WHERE’S THE MONEY MIKE?
Most online sportsbooks have Real Madrid making the next round around 1/500 (pretty much a sure thing). Slightly more interesting is the fact that Real Madrid winning Tuesday night's clash is a 3/4 while a home victory for the Turkish side is 4/. I'm quite tempered by the soccer odds on a draw at 11/4 as I think that Galatasaray need to score, but are not strong enough to beat Madrid.
Too little too late / Too much too early
You might consider that this game will be an absolute whitewash for the Turkish side as Madrid (as we have just mentioned) are really on form and Galatasaray have scored the least goals (11) of any side remains in the Champions League, but also conceded more than any other side still involved in the competition, just 12.
I think this game will go in one direction where Galatasaray will soon give up the ghosts and Madrid will start the party early, if you think that that's how it will go, bet on the Spanish side winning both halves at 8/5 and a decent score possibly 3-1 at 16/1 or 40 at 33/1. Or you might reckon the Turkish side will get an early goal causing Madrid to play damage limitation and hang on to their aggregate score. You might be interested to know that the home side winning at the break the game ending drawn at 90 is available at 17/1 with a score of 1-1 is at 7/1 while 2-2 is at 12/1.
You could always bet on a 3-0 win for the home side which would see extra time and penalties but the odds of 66/1 tell you how likely that is. Soccer bettors should also note the fact that Galatasaray making through the semi-finals is also at 66/1. You should also know from as a clear example of the gulf between the two sides that Real Madrid are 9/4 to win the Champions League while Galatasaray are 500/1.
Galaxies are pretty good form at present with just their aforementioned defeat against Madrid sporting their last five games, the other four were all victories and what's more if you were to take out the defeat at the hands Madrid Galatasaray have outscored opponents 11 -4 in those four games.
However I still think quite simply Madrid will be a bridge too for the Turkish side, especially as in their last four games Madrid have scored 14 goals and conceded just four.
Prediction: Madrid progress and I'm going for a repeat of the score from a club friendly back in August 2011, that's 2-1 to the Spanish giants available at 7/1 with Paddy Power.
