Some people believe I'm being “unreal” to think Real Madrid won't drop 3 points in the group stage just because they went down 2-1 and 2-0 to Juventus a little while ago in this competition. That doesn’t mean that everyone can’t share in the joys our your Humble Handicapper’s soccer picks when they take on Galatasaray next week.
Enough with the past posts… WHERE’S THE MONEY MIKE?
Looking at this group, I pegged it as Real Madrid on top, Copenhagen at the bottom, Juventus will finish second and Galatasaray gets third, but no cigar; and I'm sticking to my guns. Need I remind you that Galatasaray are 16/1 to win the group? A highly unlikely thing.
Galatasaray are 250/1 to win the Champions League with Bet Victor, and that should tell you all you need to know about who I fancy for my sports picks in this match-up.
If you still can’t work out who’s going to come out on top in this match, let me tell you that Real Madrid are 9/4 (third favourites) to make the final, while Galatasaray are 150/1.
Better Runs That Cricket
At press time, Real are on a nine-game unbeaten run, clocking up 13 goals from their last five matches while conceding just two, but never more than 1 in a game. Real don’t seem to mind if they play at home or away, as they have outscored their last two hosts 5-1 (winning both matches).
Looking at the head-to-head form shows us that it’s the home side that comes out on top. The last time that happened, it was indeed Galatasaray who were 3-2 winners (the Champions League last April). However, Real took them down 3-0 and 2-1 at home when they hosted the party. For the record, those scores are offered up at 60/1 (a 3-2 win to the hosts), 8/1 on 3-0 to the visitors and 7/1 on a 2-1 Madrid win.
In those three game games, the goal tally reads 7-4 in Madrid’s favour; however, Galatasaray have suffered only two defeats in their last 14 European home outings. Madrid winning is at 9/20 in the soccer betting odds, a draw is at 7/2 and a home win is at 11/2. But I'm backing an away win for my picks. The tea leaves show me a goal for the hosts, but no win and more goals for Madrid.
