Sunday’s Premier League betting card features the clash between Fulham and Liverpool and, as things stand, odds makers send Liverpool into Craven Cottage installed as the odds-on-favourites to win.

Premier League Picks – Fulham vs. Liverpool

In fact, Fulham is receiving hardly any love from the bookies across all markets in spite of having home edge. Has the market got it right? Join us as we breakdown this matchup and serve up soccer picks for your weekend wagering ticket.

William Hill Soccer Lines: Fulham +275 vs. Liverpool -105 Draw +250
Match Time: 10:00 AM EST Time, Sunday May 12, 2013

Fulham (10-10-16) GF 46, GA 57

Typically, home advantage would earn a team some consideration in the market but given Fulham’s slide in recent weeks which includes home defeats, it’s a moot edge evinced by their rather large +275 betting odds to win outright.

Fulham are on the back of four straight defeats, five in their last six Premier League fixtures. Granted, they went up against stiff opposition with fixtures at home to Chelsea and Arsenal – two sides that are embroiled in a battle for a top four finish –and a road fixture at Everton. Those matches were always going to be hard for them to win. But to barely strike an audible chord? To go scoreless in all three while conceding five goals combined and then to go on to a 4-2 defeat at home to Reading, a side that is knee deep in the relegation zone without any hope of Premier League survival and had no business taking three points at Craven Cottage? What is that but taking the foot off the pedal, merrily cruising to the finish line at Pinto-like speed to claim their middle-table honours.

If Fulham had little to play for at the start of the poor run of form, they’ve naught to play for now with two games left on the season. A spot in European competition long gone but safe for the next instalment of Premier League action, all that they need to worry about now is dusting off their golf clubs for the summer break.

Liverpool (14-13-9) GF 67 GA 42

In their final away game of the season, the Reds descend on Craven Cottage looking to bank all three points. Sportsbooks certainly seem to believe they will do just that, cornering this game wholeheartedly in their camp at – 105 soccer betting odds to win outright at William Hill. But just coming down the wire is news that Steven Gerrard’s season is over as he’ll be going undergoing surgery for a recurring shoulder problem this week. That on top of the suspension of Luis Suarez and the imminent retirement of Jamie Carragher, will Liverpool have enough to make a good fist of competing for the win at Craven Cottage?

Liverpool has failed to bank all three points in four of their last six games. They did carve out the draw in those, three of which ended scoreless – to West Ham United, Reading and Everton – the last of which, an unmemorable Merseyside derby that saw Liverpool miss a valuable opportunity to finish above their rivals in the table.

In the midst of this spate of results, Liverpool settled on a 2-2 draw with Chelsea at Anfield Stadium and then went on to pummel Newcastle United 6-0 on the away. They are 2-4-0 in their last six, 3-1-2 in their last six road games.

Currently, Liverpool sits seventh in the table, on the strength of a 14-13-9 record on the season, which includes a 6-7-5 away record. Earlier in the season, they beat Fulham 4-0 at Anfield Stadium.

Soccer Betting Verdict: Liverpool is on a decent run in domestic action having lost only two league games since a 2-1 defeat to Manchester United in January. They’ve kept this positive run of form going despite a bloodthirsty Suarez, who was suspended for ten games after the infamous incident against Chelsea, and so they should.

Even with Gerrard gone for the season, the Reds will have the inspiration of Carragher to draw on. Carragher aspires to keep the clean sheet going in the last two games in the hopes of becoming the first defender in the Barclays Premier League to record 200 shutouts. He moved on to 199 with the clean sheet against Everton.

Of course, Fulham might have something to say about the proceedings. But when, for the most part, they’ve seemed disinterested in their fixtures, it’s hard to imagine they’d bother now.

Picks and Prediction: Liverpool at -105 to beat Fulham 2-0 for your soccer picks.
