Napoli is currently at the the top of Serie A will they be able to hold it together against Fiorentina. Find out where we've placed our money for Wednesday Nights Matchup.

Things are starting to slip away a little for Napoli at the top of Serie A. Defeat to Roma a fortnight ago means that they are currently five points behind the unbeaten leaders and ahead of third placed Juventus only by virtue of a better goal difference.

Fiorentina, meanwhile, are coming up hard on the leading group and currently lie in sixth place, just four points behind their visitors. The two sides are, in fact, much more even than the table might suggest, each having lost only one game and each having scored a comparable number of goals along the way. The kicker from Fiorentina’s point of view has been that they have drawn two games more than Napoli, a trend they will be anxious not to repeat here.

The soccer odds quite rightly make the two sides roughly equal, with Fiorentina a best price of 2.5 with BetVictor, with the same sportsbook having Napoli at 2.88 and the draw at 3.3. That just serves to emphasise one of the problems of betting on Italian football, which is the often you can cut the cake any way you like and still not end up with as big a share of it as you expected.

Taking all things into consideration, it is hard not to bet the draw here, simply because of the slightly higher number of draws that you seem to get in La Liga, and also because of Fiorentina’s slightly unfavourable win to draw ratio.

If you want to get slightly friskier with your soccer picks, then have a look at the half time/full time market. There you can get either side to be ahead at half time but the game ending in a draw for around 16.0, or a draw at both intervals for around 5.5.
