Just because they are such fond memories of my trip to Germany to watch the World Cup a few years ago they also do have a little bit big bet on German games. Last season was hardly a close with Byern Munich beating Borussia Dortmund by a clear 35 points and with a 41 goals scored better goal difference. Surely this next season can't be such a one-sided affair. However the soccer betting odds list Bayern Munich at 2/9 to win it while they’ve placed Borussia Dortmund at 11/2. It's not just your Humble Handicapper that thinks that it will be a close run thing as Joachim Low Germany's national coach deems Jurgen Klopp's side are the only team who can stand in the way of Bayern Munich securing back-to-back Bundesliga titles, according to Germany coach
Enough with the league's…WHERE’S THE MONEY MIKE?
The last four meetings between these two sides Borussia Dortmund, came out on top and three of those occasions where Augsburg only had a slight return with a 1-1 draw back in March 2012.
A repeat of that scores at 7/1 while any draw is at 18/5 but I am not going there with my soccer picks.
Really simple maths shows you that Borussia Dortmund have out-scored Augsburg 11 goals to 3 in their last four head to head encounters I think it's highly likely that the overdogs will look to start their assault on the German league and a very aggressive fashion.
What does this all mean?
Bayern Munich may be the most successful club in history of this league and, having won their 22nd title in 2012-13. However anyone you can do the most basic maths will know you never get more than three points for a win. Therefore should Borussia Dortmund win this game then they should at least be level pegging with the reigning champions.
The underdogs have home advantage but Borussia Dortmund have the backing of online sportsbooks they’re around 9/20 to win this game.
You should also know that Augsburg are 11/8 on a bottom three finish that is second favourite between Braunschweig and Nurnberg.
Borussia Dortmund winning both halves is at the hardly tempting 11/10 but a if you must bet on half-time and full-time results I can't see any reason not to bet on it, although a draw at half-time and Dortmund winning on an 90 is 3/1.Prediction: Borussia Dortmund win 3-0 at a decent 9/1 with Paddy Power.
