Bayern has all but locked up the top spot in the group already, but a win over CSKA Moscow certainly wouldn't hurt. What's our Champions League pick for this matchup?

Odds Overview

The Bavarians have been favored at some crazy soccer betting lines this season, but this one is actually more reasonable, suggesting they could be in for a fight against the Russians on Wednesday.

Sportsbooks have Bayern Munich at approximately -220 to win, with CSKA Moscow at +700 and a draw right around soccer odds of +350.

CSKA Moscow

A 5-2 loss is never easy to take, especially when it's in front of a world-wide audience that comes attached with the Champions League. However, the Horses have done well to recover since that loss to Manchester City.

First CSKA Moscow overcame Terek Grozny 4-1 at home before the break, and after the layoff they got the better of Spartak Moscow in a 1-0 victory at home.

Seydou Doumbia scored the winning goal and it came after only seven minutes. Doumbia has been a force to reckoned with for the club this season, having scored nine league goals in 17 Russian Premier League appearances.

With his help, CSKA Moscow is tied for third in the standings and they're only three points behind Zenit St. Petersburg and Loko Moscow in the extremely close standings.

As far as their group stage performances in the Champions League, the Horses have only one win out of four matches, with that coming over Viktoria Plzen. Defensively CSKA Moscow has been a mess, allowing an average of three goals per match so far.

Bayern Munich

It just keeps getting better and better if you're a Bayern fan. There were questions about whether or not they could come into Dortmund and get a positive result, but they did that and more in a splendid second half rampage.

The two top teams in the Bundesliga have become fierce rivals and for the first 65 minutes it was as close as could be. However, former Dortmund star Mario Gotze haunted his old club, scoring the first goal and setting Bayern on their way.

The Bavarians added two more through Arjen Robben and Thomas Muller, finishing as incredibly impressive 3-0 victors at Signal Iduna Park. With the win, Bayern moves seven points clear of Dortmund and hold a four-point edge on Bayer Leverkusen.

Franck Ribery, in the contention for the Ballon d'Or award, missed the win over Dortmund because of a rib injury and he's set to miss at least a couple more weeks.

Still, this is a club that can manage just fine without Ribery. Robben, Muller, Gotze, Mario Mandzukic and the rest will pick up the slack and Bayern will continue to march on.

Champions League Pick

Russia is known for having some pretty intense atmospheres and CSKA Moscow is going to be up for the challenge and ready to work, but we just see quality winning out over desire in this showdown.

Bayern has been just too good for everyone else so far this season and we don't think that will change on Wednesday.

The Bavarians are playing even better under Pep Guardiola and his constant strive for improvement and perfection has helped the side reach a new level of dominance. CSKA Moscow will give it everything they've got in front of their faithful supporters, but we have to suggest Bayern as our soccer pick.
