Just because domestic football is taking a wee sabbatical doesn't mean that’s there’s not still plenty of action out there and the football action comes football betting.

.. with football betting comes football winning if you follow your Humble Handicapper’s soccer picks.

The 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup may be a lesser-known competition but the quality in them their games as the Continental Champions from around the world are heading to Brazil this June. The tournament runs over two weeks from June 15th to the 30th and the hosts are the defending Champions.

Enough with the facts…WHERE’S THE MONEY MIKE?

The Confederations Cup sees eight nations go head to head for the title, we have a group stage before the knockouts. Brazil get their place at the tournament because they are the 2014 FIFA World Cup hosts, and are joined by Spain (that my mother the current World Cup holders), Japan (as Asian Cup winners), Mexico (the CONCACAF Gold Cup winners), Uruguay (Copa America holders), Tahiti (the OFC Nations Cup winners), Nigeria (ACON winners) and joined by Italy who take part because of finishing runners up at Euro 2012. As the winners of the European Championship and the World Cup both get spots at the Confederation Cup, but both titles are held by Spain, offering up a spot for Italy.

The initial stage is split into two groups of four, with Brazil, Japan, Mexico and Italy going in Group A, and Spain, Uruguay, Tahiti and Nigeria squaring up in Group B. The top two from each go forward to the semi final knockouts.

More Confederations Cup action!

Next Monday Sees V very Tasty Class When Nigeria Takes on Tahiti.

Tahiti is a Digby (the world’s biggest dog) of a underdog of the opening round of the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup tournament. But, in this order tournament almost anything can happen and I certainly wouldn't begrudge you have a couple of dollars on a surprise result.

Look at Those Goals!

In fact, there is very little reason to bet on anything other than a surprise result Tahiti are +22,500 to win, a draw is at +1000 soccer odds, Nigeria winning is at -1400. What's more the shortest correct score odds with bet365 are on Nigeria winning at a very healthy 3-0 that's a +450 while winning 2-0 is at +600 and winning 4-0 is at +550.

The shortest correct score odds of a draw is on 1-1 at +2000, while it looks like if Tahiti win they’ll only do it by the skin of their teeth. The bookies have 1-0 victory at +5000, while a 2-0 victory is at +100 and a 2-1 victory is +6600.

It’s common sense and is wild bets I think common sense will as probably come out on top in this one therefore if you wanna make some money you have to look a little bit deeper to find pot of gold.

Tahiti winning both halves is ta +5000 which is the same odds of the game ending drawn at the final whistle and Tahiti winning at the 45. By comparison Nigeria winning both halves is at -350, hardly worth the trip to the bookmakers. If you do think that Nigeria will end up on top bet on a draw at the 45 and the Nigerian winning at the 90 at +333.

If you want to bet on a Nigerian that's going to happen to probably be a 2-1 or 3-1 score. Those scores are available at +1400 and +1500 respectively.
