Will Dom Dwyer help Sporting Kansas City to a win in Columbus on Wednesday? We've come up with our favorite soccer picks for this battle between Eastern Conference competitors. Where's the best value?

Odds Overview
It's pretty even when it comes to the MLS soccer betting odds. Some sportsbooks have the two teams equal at right around +165, but other sites have Sporting Kansas City favored by the smallest of margins.

Columbus Crew
If the season were to end today, the Crew would finish just outside of the playoff spots in the Eastern Conference.

Through 18 games, Columbus has racked up four wins, six draws and eight losses, with 20 goals for and 23 goals against. Their home record is interesting: they have two wins, four draws and two losses, with only seven goals for but only seven goals against. The Crew, as you can see, have been mighty tough to break down when playing at home.

The last time we saw Columbus in action, though, it was ugly. They broke down defensively numerous times and ended up losing 4-1 to the Red Bulls.

In the loss, the Crew's lone goal came from Adam Bedell in the first half and that was pretty much the only highlight. For a team fighting it out for a postseason berth, it was certainly not what coach Gregg Berhalter wanted to see.

For Wednesday, players to watch include Federico Higuain, who leads the side with six league goals, as well as Ethan Finlay and Jairo Obando Arrieta. Bernardo Anor was shown a red card against New York and therefore won't be able to play.

Sporting Kansas City
So far so good for the Wizards in their quest to defend their MLS Cup championship.

Right now we find Sporting in second place in the conference standings behind only DC United. They've recorded eight wins, five draws and five losses and find themselves just two points back of first place.

Over the weekend, the Wizards did just enough to beat Montreal (2-1) and get three more crucial points. Dom Dwyer was the hero again, scoring the winning goal in the 89th minute, his second of the game.

Dwyer has been rampant all season long. He's scored 14 goals so far in the league campaign, the second-most of any player in the MLS. Will he make another significant impact here on Wednesday?

As a team, the Wizards have been hit-or-miss away from home, recording five wins and four losses (without a draw) in nine total matches. They'll fancy their chances, however, against a Columbus side that's been far from convincing lately, especially with the goalscoring form they've been getting out of Dwyer.

MLS Pick
We know Columbus has been difficult to overcome at home, but we have to take advantage of the appealing soccer betting value that comes attached with picking Sporting Kansas City.

SKC is simply the better overall team and this is a team that's had its fair share of success away from home.

What's more, the most dangerous player on the field will be Dwyer and that gives the visitors a clear-cut advantage in the attacking department. It should be a close one, but at the end of the day we're backing a win for the Wizards as our betting pick, as they look to keep the pressure on DC United in the Eastern Conference.
Pick: Columbus Crew 1 Sporting Kansas City 2
