Champions League returns front and centre on Tuesday with the first couple of quarterfinal ties kicking off the first leg. Here’s a rundown of all the UCL betting odds and our free soccer picks.

Champions League Quarterfinals
Tuesday’s Champions League betting card promises a massive day in Europe’s top flight club competition as it features the top two teams on the Champions League soccer odds boards. It doesn’t get better than this in soccer betting.

Barcelona, favoured to win a second straight Champions League title, lead the way into the quarterfinals when they take on Atletico Madrid, marking an all-Spanish affair in the quarterfinals of Europe’s top-flight competition. Second favourites Bayern Munich also feature on Tuesday’s Champions League betting card in their quarterfinal tie with Benfica.

No surprise, both are favored in the first leg of their ties on account of their pedigree and the fact that they have home advantage. Will these respective ties fall Iine with market expectations or will there be upsets in some way shape or form served up on the day. Here we look at the Champions League match betting odds and below we preview both fixtures for your soccer picks.

Table 1: Champions League Match Betting Odds

Barcelona vs. Atletico Madrid
Barcelona remain the team to beat in Champions League outrights, improving from +160 to +150 at bet365 in the last week despite a spate of poor results in La Liga. They are after a draw to Villarreal and, more importantly, a 2-1 loss to Real Madrid in El Classico at the weekend. That the loss came at the Camp Nou is significant, not to mention it allowed Atletico Madrid to close the gap on Barcelona in the La Liga title race. Atletico, by contrast, are coming off an impressive 5-1 victory over Real Betis at the weekend.

That said Barcelona are unbeaten in Champions League competition this season winning six and drawing two of their fixtures, and in the last round they dismissed Arsenal comprehensively 5-1 on aggregate. Hence, they are the deserved home favorites at -200 at bet365 to win outright at the Camp Nou on Tuesday. Diego Simeone’s Atleti, by contrast, were given all to do by Dutch upstarts PSV over the course of two-legs but eventually they advanced on penalties.

By all accounts, Blaugrana are expected to advance into the semis. They have the edge over Atletico in recent meetings, winning six and drawing one of the last seven in a row. In January, the Catalan giants beat Atletico 2-1 at the Camp Nou in La Liga, marking their sixth straight win over their biggest La Liga threat this season. Understandably, soccer bettors expect more of the same when the pair resume hostilities on Tuesday, prompting most to put up Barcelona at -200 to win outright on their soccer picks. That the betting exchange holds little confidence in the team from Madrid probably only encourages this sentiment.

However, Diego Simeone, lest everyone’s forgotten, did knock Barcelona out of Champions League a few seasons back. They aren’t an easy side to play against and probably deserve more respect than their +700 soccer odds would suggest. We’re loathe to go against Barcelona in principle, but not tickling Atleti on our soccer picks is just impossible when the soccer odds are so attractive. It’s a longshot but we’re of a mind to hedge our bets with a draw at +333 or a combined result Atleti win or draw at +160 at bet365.

Bayern Munich vs. Benfica
Bayern Munich saved their best for last when they stormed back in their R16 Champions League tie with Juventus with only minutes to spare. The thriller at Allianz Arena was one of the best accounts in the early knockouts as Bayern Munich were in very real danger of going out prematurely, down 4-2 on aggregate to last season’s runners-up Juventus and barely 5 minutes left to go.

Then, somehow, against the odds, they scored two last gasp goals to send the tie into extra time and another two goals later and they were through in sensational fashion. You couldn’t script it any better.

In the quarterfinals, Bayern Munich have drawn a much easier matchup – that is, if the soccer odds are to be taken at face value. Benfica are one of the competition longshots in the quarterfinals, unlike Juventus who were always expected to give the Bundesliga giants a run for their money. This doesn’t mean that the Portuguese side should be dismissed out of hand, but it’s hard to look past a home win for Pep Guardiola and his lads.

Backing a Bayern Munich win is the realistic option but at soccer odds of -500 or higher depending on your sportsbook of choice soccer bettors will be hard pressed to find any value. Indeed, across the Champions League odds board it’s a bit of a challenge to find good value on Bayern Munich.

Our top selections come in the form of totals, Over 2.5 goals is trading at -185 at bet365 and is a good alternative for your soccer picks. For those more adventurous, Over 3.5 at William Hill is a tempting +140 soccer pick. Pep Guardiola will be keen to clinch a comprehensive win at the Allianz Arena, thereby setting up Bayern Munich for a routine return leg to Portugal.
