Group D boasts some big names, not least Germany’s Bayern Munich. There's also The EPL f ormer champions Man City, then Russia’s CSKA Moscow and making up the numbers Viktoria Plzen.
You probably don’t know it but VP are a Czech professional football club who ply their trade in the Gambrinus liga, the top division of the Czech republic.
How Interesting….WHERE’S THE MONEY MIKE?
Bayern Munich are the team to beat in this group as the bookies have them at 4/1 favourites to win the tournament. Man city are also in contention (of sorts) at 11/1 and worth a dark horse bet, as they have the squad who (on paper) could do it, however I’d be weary of backing City as the EPL is there main focus and it’s a more open domestic season that what it’s been for a while.
What About The Rest?
CSKA Moscow come in at 150/1 to win the Champions League for our soccer picks, but a bet for vodka drinkers only while Viktoria Plezen are massive 1500/1 long shots, and a bet for lunatics and no-one lese.
It’s a chipper match up on Tuesday the 17th September as Muncih host Moscow and I reckon that game will be a real declaration of intent by both sides. Moscow are 14/1 long shots to take all three points but with a draw at soccer betting odds of 13/2, it’ll probably be a Munich win However, remember that in the Champions League sometimes the apple cart gets well upset.
(Not this time though)
Still the bookies have the home side winning both halves at 4/9 while Moscow winning any half is at 25/1 (and that still sees them go out losers on the 90).
