Regardless of what happened to Newcastle on Monday night with Everton, we believe that there is plenty of soccer betting value to be found in their trip to Cardiff this weekend in the English Premier league.

Much as it saddens me to say it, I was very right about Everton’s Monday night victory over Newcastle. But that result means Newcastle need a win in Cardiff.

Enough with the self congratulations…WHERE’S THE MONEY MIKE?

At time of press Cardiff are 11th in the table, absolutely middle-of-the-road they do have a slightly worse goal difference then the two teams above them and the one below them, but on eight points they could theoretically climb as high as fourth come the final whistle. Newcastle are not far above the dreaded dotted line, on 7 points.

Cardiff are on two victories two draws and two defeats from the league this season and they've only scored six goals but of let in seven thus far. Newcastle United only won twice away from home all of last season which is a pretty poor run of form. Just to put Newcastle’s problems in perspective, you should know that they are currently 5/1 to be relegated. Another option for your soccer picks includes manager Alan Pardew listed at 7/2 to follow Sunderland's manager out the door before anybody else this season.

However Newcastle had won four their last five games before they went to see Everton.

Your Humble Handicapper's is convinced that this is not gonna be pretty game, but we will see a winner. Newcastle actually do, on paper, have the better squad and I think that they need the three points more than Cardiff do and have had a suitable alarm bell wake-up call from the trip to Everton.

I do think it's going to be tight in terms of half-time and full-time so I'm very tempted to place a sports pick on an even game at the 45, but with the Geordies winning it on the 90.

That's available the bookies at 13/2, but the surest half-time full-time odds are on Cardiff winning both half though at 13/5. By comparison Newcastle winning both halves is 7/2 and the game being drawn on 45 and Cardiff coming out on top in the 90 is at 5/1.

Crazy money

If you really want to go wild and makes really big money out of this game why don't you bet on Cardiff leading at half-time and the Newcastle coming out on top come the final whistle that at soccer odds of 35/1 however I don't think Newcastle have heart these days to come back then the trailing and the way they let slip their lead against Hull a couple of weekends ago makes me think of Cardiff going on top at half-time will mean they finish the game on top.

The surest correct score odds and Newcastle victory offered 1-0 (8/1) although that is behind both 1-0 and 2-1 to Cardiff, both around 8/1. I do think Newcastle will win this game and I think if they're going to win this game they can have to score some goals.

Prediction: Newcastle win 31 at a whopping 29/1 with betfair.
