It's a showdown between the bottom two sides in the Premier League this weekend and we've come up with our favorite soccer pick for the match.

Odds Overview

At time of writing the Bluebirds were favored but not by much. They can be backed at +135 or so, with Fulham listed at +235 and a draw at +240 soccer odds.

Cardiff City

You'd have to go back to the first week in February to find the last time Cardiff won a match in any competition. They're going through a poor period at the moment, having failed to win in five consecutive matches.

Not only did the Bluebirds get embarrassed by Hull City (0-4) at home a couple weeks back, they also bowed out of the F.A. Cup in a home defeat to Wigan. It's obviously been a tumultuous season for Cardiff, there's no doubt about it.

First and foremost, there's no way Malky Mackay should have been let go, as he was doing more than a serviceable job with the squad at his disposal.

Fans aren't happy with owner Vincent Tan and rightly so. He's made a lot of questionable decisions and the appointment of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer hasn't exactly had the immediate positive impact that Tan may have imagined it would.

As you can see, the Bluebirds, three points adrift from escaping the relegation zone, desperately need a good result this weekend. At home they've done well at times, but their goal differential (-10) has still left a lot to be desired.

The Cottagers are going through a dry spell of their own, and it's been even worse for the Londoners. They haven't won a match since January 14th.

That's a nine-match run in which Fulham has failed to get three points, and it also includes their shock loss to Sheffield United in the cup.

In the Premier League, the Cottagers are currently dead last on 21 points, but are still within striking distance of escaping. They're four points away from the promised land, and with time starting to run out they really need at least a point on Saturday.

Felix Magath hasn't had much time to work his magic yet and he'll be searching for his first win as the Fulham boss. His first match in charge was the 1-1 away draw to West Brom, a fine result, but he could then only look on helplessly as he side was outclassed in a 3-1 home defeat against Chelsea.

Fulham's away record this season suggests more incoming problems. They've recorded three wins, two draws and nine losses so far – in those matches they've scored only 11 times but have shipped an unacceptable 31 goals.

Premier League Pick

What a tough call this is. We are far from thrilled to recommend a play on either one of these under-performing sides.

As poor as Cardiff have looked lately, they're still capable of getting a result, especially at home. We know the motivation and desire will be there, due to the nature of the beast that is avoiding getting relegated. All hands on deck as they say.

However, the Cottagers have shown some good things under Magath's brief reign so far, are equally if not more desperate, and we believe they'll be well-drilled for this tough visit to Wales. Neither team inspires much confidence at all, so we'll play it safe with our soccer picks and go with a draw, available at nearly +250 at some of the top sportsbooks.

Pick: Cardiff City 1 Fulham 1
