Two sides in need of a win, face off when Napoli go to Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League, but if you listen to your Humble Handicapper’s soccer picks, you can win some money…whether you need it or not.

Jurgen Klopp's Dortmund will still be smarting after their Champions League Final defeat, and will want revenge against Napoli after their 2-1 defeat the last time these sides met. Especially as Napoli had bad form and had been defeated in both of their previous two home matches in Europe.  Neither team is looking that hot, but we will break it down to make our soccer picks.

It won’t be an easy revenge to take, in their 28 matches against Napoli they have won nine and lost 15 (2 draw). Dortmund fans might like to hear that Napoli have lost their last two games straight, but then again Borussia have lost their last three.

Can’t find those winning ways

You’d need to go back to the start of the month to find a Dortmund win, but that was a 6-1 corker against Vfb Stuttgart. Looking in more general terms (and the soccer tips demand that you do) Dortmund have scored 10 goals in their last five games, but nine of those came in their two wins back in late October and early November. And in their last three games they have been outscored 6-1.

Napoli are goalless in their last two games, and were beaten 1-0 at home by Parma and 3-0 away by Juventus. However, in the three previous games Napoli scored seven goals.

It’s going to be close

When Napoli lose (looking their last five) it’s to nil, but when they win they win by one goal. 3-2 against Catania and 2-1 twice, against Fiorentina, and Olympique de Marseille. Dortmund had a little habit of losing by the same margin as they went down 1-0 to Arsenal and 2-1 against Wolfsburg in the Champions League in their most recent outings.

The sportsbooks have a home win at 8/13, and away win at 19/4. But your Humble Handicapper doesn't think we’ll see a clear winner in this game.

The draw is offered up at soccer odds of 3/1 and that’s where my money is going.

I do think that we’ll see some goal sand the lead swapping hands. There for it’s worth backing both Napoli leading at the break before the game ends tied at 18/1 with the sportsbooks and Dortmund going in at the break in the lead before the draw at the 90 at soccer odds of 17/1.

The shortest correct score odds on a draw are 0-0 at 16/1, 1-1 at 7/1 and 3-3 at 50/1 (I’d say leave that score to the Merseyside teams) but I do think we’ll see a four goal game.

Prediction: the game ends drawn 2-2 available at 17/1 with BetVictor
