Man. City look to continue their bright start in the Premier League at the expense of promoted side Watford, as EPL betting enters match day 4. Join us as we preview this game & serve up soccer picks.

Manchester City Perfect To Begin With
Manchester City are marching through the early weeks of the Premier League season with a verve and swagger. Confidence is high after winning all three opening fixtures without conceding a goal, all while scoring seven. Most recently, the Citizens are coming off a 2-0 win at Goodison Park over the Toffees, which isn’t an easy place to flee with maximum points.

Consider the solid start on the season, it’s no surprise that Manchester City have usurped Chelsea at the top of the Premier League futures betting market. Now installed as the team to beat at -125 soccer odds. Of course, it’s early days yet and momentum shifts are bound to occur. For the time being, England’s top flight boasts a tempered Sly Blue hue to it right now.

Watford Surprisingly Holding Their Own
On the very same day that Manchester City took maximum points at Goodison Park, Watford served up a small upset with a draw against Southampton. The point gained at Vicarage Road Stadium marked the third point in as many matches, extending Watford’s surprising unbeaten streak in the Premier League to three straight.

At the start of the season, Watford were the top favorites across most sportsbooks of the promoted triplet for demotion back to second-tier obscurity. Trading at -138 at Bet365 as high as -163 at William Hill and, even, higher at Paddy Power at -166. Tale told, Watford have punched above their weight class. The best bit, they’ve taken points off some respectable outfits such as Southampton last weekend and Everton in the opening week.

Since settling on a 2-2 draw with Everton at Goodison Park, Watford haven’t conceded a goal. They haven’t scored either though, which is a slight cause for concern. How long can the backline hold up for before crumbling?

Soccer Betting Verdict
Speaking of crumbling, one has to consider the offensive talent contained within Manchester City is more than capable of giving Watford fits; not to mention Joe Hart’s stellar play between the posts  and three clean sheets is going to be more than a match for Watford’s Heureiho da Silva Gomes, who hasn’t let a goal slip by him in two games.

Last season, the pair met in FA Cup action with Manchester City running away 4-2 winners. The year prior, more of the same as the Manuel Pellegrini’s side crushed Watford 3-0 in FA Cup. The last time these two sides met in Premier League action, the year was 2007 and they settled on a 1-1 draw at Vicarage Road Stadium and a scoreless draw at the Emirates. Eight years ago, the Citizens weren’t anywhere nearly as good as they are now, with championship pedigree. It would be a huge accomplishment by Watford to be the first side this season to take any points off Manchester City, make no mistake. Never mind accomplish the feat at the Emirates? Colour the world shocked if they do.

As a result, the only soccer pick that comes across reasonable is to back Manchester City to the win. At -500 Premier League odds, though, there’s little value to be had. Consider Manchester City’s strong defending through the first few weeks, the ‘No’ for both teams to score at -120 appears to be a better soccer pick. We would also recommend the UNDER 2.5 at +210 given Watford’s own defensive prowess, but the latter soccer pick can be rendered moot very quickly by the offensive might of Manchester City. So don’t go betting the farm on it.

Soccer Picks: Manchester City to win at -500, No both teams to score at -120 & Under 2.5 at +210 at Bet365.
