Odds Overview

Similar to their Portuguese counterpart Porto, the Eagles are in and around the -150 area to win at home in Wednesday's clash.

An Olympiakos win is available at +425, with a draw at +300 in the soccer odds. If you believe goals are going to be hard to come by, the ‘Under’ 2.5 is at plus money (+110) at certain sports betting sites, with the ‘Over’ at -140.

 Benfica

With Porto and Sporting Lisbon always around, it's going to be tough for Benfica to ever emerge as the victors in the Portuguese Liga. Right now they're in third place, five points behind the league leaders.

There's obviously still a long ways to go and anything can happen. Plus, maybe a 2-1 away win over Estoril before the international break will give the Eagles a boost mentally, which they'll most certainly need against a talented side in Olympiakos.

The Champions League results have been mixed for Benfica so far. They opened with an impressive 2-0 home win over Anderlecht, with Luisao and Filip Djuricic the goalscorers, but were then handled in a 3-0 defeat at PSG.

Though he couldn't find the score-sheet in the loss to the French giants, Oscar Cardozo is the one to watch for Benfica.

The experienced Paraguayan forward has three goals in five Liga games so far this season, this coming after netting 17 times in 21 appearances in 2012/13. He also scored seven goals in nine Europa League matches that campaign.

Olympiakos

“The Legend.” What a fitting nickname for a club that's won a staggering 40 Greek League titles in their history.

Well, Olympiakos has been living up to the moniker thus far in 2013. They've gone undefeated in seven Super League matches and have scored 20 goals while allowing just one. That includes an impressive away record in which they've logged three wins and one draw in four matches, while not surrendering a single goal.

The Champions League is a giant step up in competition though and Olympiakos found that out quickly in their group stage opening encounter with PSG. They lost 4-1 at home to Zlatan Ibrahimovic and company.

However, The Legend came back and scored a stunning 3-0 away win over Anderlecht a couple weeks back, which puts them right back in the race in Group C.

The man of the moment was Kostas Mitroglou, who scored all three goals in the victory. Olympiakos only had eight total shots on goal but made the most of opportunities, while Robert Gago was strong in goal.

Champions League Pick

This is a crucial match involving the two sides that will almost assuredly be competing for the second seed in the group. PSG is sure to take the top spot, while Anderlecht has looked out of their depth in this competition up until this point.

And, as good as Olympiakos has looked recently, we believe the 65,000+ strong at Estadio da Luz in Lisbon will spur Benfica to the three points.

The Eagles have yet to lose at home this season and it's hard to imagine that changing here. At such a short price, we must recommend a Benfica victory at -150 for your soccer picks.
