Champions League means Champions winning spoils if you listen to your Humble Handicapper’s tips when Bayer Leverkusen take on Paris St.-Germain. Let's find the value soccer picks in this match-up.

PSG sit three points ahead of Olympiacos at the top of Group C, Bayer were second to Manchester United in Group A. But that’s all in the past, you don’t get any money from betting on the past – the future is where the money is. If you want a future bet you might like to know that PSG are +1500 to win the Champions League (that’s 7th favoured) by the sportsbooks. As a comparison Bayer Leverkusen are +20000. In fact PSG are -137 to reach the semi-finals and Bayern Leverkusen are +459.

Enough with the far future…WHERE’S THE MONEY MIKE?

The bookies have PSG coming out on top in this match at best soccer odds of +137, Leverkusen at +187 and a draw (worth a cheeky punt at 240). Your Humble Handicapper believes that Paris Saint-Germain are contenders to win the competition. Last season the Ligue 1 champions reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League, but were beaten on away goals by Barcelona.

Don’t bet on any clean sheets

The French side have a somewhat checkered run at present. They won two of their last five, drawn two and lost one. That does look mixed, but they are undefeated in their last four, they’ve scored eight goals in their last five, and have never failed to score in that recent run. However they’ve only managed to keep one clean sheet in the same run, that was a 2-0 home victory in Ligue 1against Girondins de Bordeaux. And let’s mention that PSG are +650 to reach the final.

Bayer’s last five

The German outfit have had even more of a mixed bag. They’ve only won two of their last five, but lost the previous three straight. They’re last two wins were just by a single goal (1-0 and 2-1) and oddly enough each of their previous defeats were again by a single goal.

What does that mean?

Maybe bet on one side to win by a single goal. In fact the bookies have a 1 goal winning game at -117. That means that we’ll probably see a close game. What also implies that we’ll see a close game is that the shortest correct score odds are on a 1-1 draw at 600. Then we have two wins for PSG (1-0 at 800 and 2-1 at 900). It seems the sportsbooks have been having a peek inside your Humble Handicapper’s head and have seen the truth of top soccer tips that lies in there.

Therefore if you want to make some cash from the bookies you’ll have to look a little deeper. I'm going for the game being drawn at the 45 and PSG’s on 90 at +500 for our soccer picks in this affair. The sorry fact is that PSG winning both halves is at a mere +260.

Prediction: PSG win (but not the first half) 2-1 at +900 with BetVictor.
