There’s more money to be won over in Germany as your Humble Handicapper is on a mini-roll in the land of the Bundesliga. Next in my sights is Bayer Leverkusen V Mainz for £££££ Schnell Schnell!

Last time your Humble Handicapper mentioned Bundesliga betting I said to back Wolfsburg with a win at 2-1, and Wolfsburg won 3-1. It wasn’t a perfect result but there was enough right with it to put money in the bank, and then soon after in Mrs Richardson’s shoe fund.

Enough with your German foresight…WHERE’S THE MONEY MIKE?

Recently in the Champions League Bayer came dramatically unstuck. French side Paris St-Germain hammered four past 10-man Bayer Leverkusen, which means it’s almost certain elimination from the Champions League for the side second in the Bundesliga.

It was the worst possible of starts when PSG’s Blaise Matuidi scored after only three minutes. Overall it looked little better as Paris St-Germain had 10 shots on target compared with Bayer Leverkusen's two.

Misery loves company

Second place is still very presentable, but they are 19 points clear of Bayer Leverkusen with 12 games left (Bayern and have not lost in 47 league matches).

In under two weeks, Bayer Leverkusen have been kicked out of the German Cup and seen their Champions League aspirations evaporate. And after their Bundesliga loss to Wolfsburg, they need to worry about the league too, but I think that worry will translate into victory.

Mainz is suddenly a big game!

The basics are as follows; Bayer winning is at 7/10, a draw is fancied at 3/1 and Mainz doing the upset is at 7/2 soccer odds.

You may think that it’s money in the bank to bet against Bayer, but your Humble Handicapper knows better.

Mainz had to settle for stalemate in their last game, against Schalke 04.

It was Schalke’s first 0-0 draw at home in the Bundesliga since October 2008 and FSV Mainz were closer to taking all three points than their hosts. Still, a victory would have been worth more than just three points as it would have boosted the side’s belief. Maybe that would have been enough to lift them over Leverkusen, but we’ll never know.

The bookies and your Humble Handicapper are in agreement with this one, as they have Bayer Leverkusen winning both halves at 6/4, a draw at the 45 and Bayer a the 90 at 7/2 and a pair of draws at 5/1 before they fancy Mainz.

If you want to bet on a little bit of bad luck for Bayer, go for the 1-1 draw in your soccer picks; the shortest correct score odds on 1-1 at 6/1.

Your Humble Handicapper knows that Bayer are going to win, and are going to start making amends for recent “mishaps”.

Prediction: 2-0 to Bayer Leverkusen at best soccer odds of 10/1 with Ladbrokes.
