Next on the plate for you lucky sports bettors is Barcelona versus Ajax, and just watch that cash come rolling in.

At the time of this writing, Barcelona are undefeated in their last five games, with three wins and two draws. They’ve scored 12 goals in that run and conceded just three. What’s more, they’ve found the back of the net in all but one of those games, and the goals they conceded all came away from home.

If you think that is just talk and hot air, you should know that the bookies have Barca at 9/2 to win the Champions League, second only to Bayern Munich. In additon, Barcelona’s Lionel Messi is 11/4 to be the tournament’s Golden Boot.

Barcelona are also 2/7 (clear favourites) to win Group H and a safe-as-houses bet of 1/41 to qualify for the knockout stages.

Enough about Barcelona… WHERE’S THE MONEY MIKE?

Ajax are 25/1 long shots to win the Group, and are still third favourites to qualify from the group at 4/1. You Humble Handicapper reckons that Ajax will be very grateful for Celtic’s inclusion in Group H as it gives them someone to lean and look down on.

The Scottish outfit are a massive 66/1 to win Group H (a drunkard's bet if ever there was one), 12/1 to qualify (a functioning alcoholic's bet) and 3/19 to finish bottom (a comparatively sensible soccer pick).

I don’t think Ajax will do any better than finish third in this group and I think that story will begin with a defeat at the hands (and feet) of Barcelona.

Ajax have just two wins in their last five and have drawn their last two games. To be fair, they have scored 12 goals in their last five games, but they have let in seven and only managed to keep a single clean sheet (at home against Roda JC) back on August 2nd.

Billy Big Time

Barcelona are too big and their home ground (not to mention their home form) is too impressive.

For the record, Barca are 1/6 to win this match in the soccer betting odds, the draw is listed at 13/2 and an unlikely away win is at 16/1. Bet wild if you fancy it, but if you’re going to do that you might as well give your money to me.

Barca winning both halves is at 8/15, Ajax winning any half still runs as high as 33/1 (that’s even for and Ajax/Draw result) and Ajax leading at the break, but Barcelona clawing it back is at 50/1 (the only crazy sports pick I’d back) at Coral.

Use your head!
