There may be more action happening in the English Premier League then you know what to do with, but there is still the small matter of the Champions League to contend with and bet on. Next up on Tuesday night is a little team called Barcelona taking on AC Milan…in a little competition called the Champions League.
Enough with the sizeism….WHERE’S THE MONEY MIKE?
This game should be an absolute cracker as looking at last five times the two sides have met, in the Champions League, we've seen 15 goals and just two draws. What's more there’s only been one 0-0 in that run and Barcelona have only twice failed to score against AC Milan and both of those encounters were away from home.
That sort of news is good news for Barcelona as they have everything to do after their 2-0 defeat away to Milan back in February in the first leg of this tie.
Backs to the wall
I'm expecting a tight defensive display from Barcelona, as should AC Milan score once Barcelona will have to score four times to go through. (Really).
Obviously away goals count double in the case of a tie so should the game end 2-1 to Barcelona AC Milan would go through 3-2 on aggregate and should the game and 3-1 to Barcelona AC Milan will go through on the away goal rule despite the fact that the scores are tied 3-3 on aggregate.
You might like to know that the last time these sides met in Barcelona, almost a year ago, the game did end 3-1 to Barcelona.
Before they went down 2-0 in the last match Barcelona had won eight of their last 11 away matches in the Champions League and were expecting a sixth straight quarter-final appearance, AC Milan had other ideas while still in play for all eyes will be on Barcelona who simply half to score goals. The game is also against the odds, as Barcelona had been on a seven match unbeaten streak against Milan on Italian soil and overall had won six draw seven and lost just five.
You should know that AC Milan have an all-time record of five wins, five draws and six defeats against Barcelona in all European competitions, although one of those was a 4-0 victory over Barcelona in the 1994 champions league final in Athens.
A repeater of that 4-0 victory is available at 120/1, but I think that's just crazy money (and that’s what the odds say too).
When it comes to placing my soccer picks, I am leaning to a Barcelona win, which is available at 1/3 but I see AC Milan going through, which is available at 4/6. BUT I’m ruling that out weird beast of an away victory at Camp Nou which is available at 8/1.
Soccer Picks & Prediction: Barcelona win 2-1 available at 9/1 with Paddy Power.
