With the way Atletico's been playing this season, it's going to be a tall task for Real Betis to get even a point out of Sunday's La Liga match. Where will you decide to place your money?

Odds Overview

The Mattress Makers are the biggest favorites of the entire La Liga schedule this weekend, being listed at -400 or so to win.

That leaves the soccers odds for Betis at an inflated number in the +1100 to +1200 range, while a draw is also a long-shot at roughly +500.

Atletico Madrid

As we've talked about before, it's been a dream-like start for Atletico this season. They're currently in second place in the league, with only one loss in nine fixtures.

Only Barcelona is ahead of the Mattress Makers at the moment, and Real Madrid find themselves two points behind.

Atletico took care of Austria Vienna 3-0 away from home during the week, making it a perfect three wins out of three in Group G so far.  Diego Costa had two goals and Raul Garcia also got one in the back of the net in the convincing win.

Key to Atletico's fine form has been Costa, who's taken the world by storm with his early-season performances. He's already scored 10 league goals this season and his play has created quite the controversy – will he play for Spain or Brazil in international play? Both countries would love to have the talented attacker.

Costa and his Atletico teammates will be hoping to extend their unbeaten home start in the league. They've won all four of their matches while scoring 13 goals and allowing only four.

Real Betis

Betis exceeded all expectations by finishing seventh in the league last season, but it's been much more of a struggle in 2013/14.

As of now, the Green and Whites are all the way down in 15th place, with two wins, two draws, and five defeats through nine matches. They've managed to score a grand total of only nine goals so far, a worrying sign ahead of this trip to Madrid.

Betis was able to end a run of losses by holding on to beat Guimaraes 1-0 in a Europa League tie on Thursday. Alvaro Vadillo scored the winning goal in what was the side's first victory in Group I of the competition.

One of the talents to keep an eye out for this weekend is Jorge Molina, who leads Betis with four league goals. He's the only player to have scored more than twice this season and he'll be hoping to add to his tally.

It's hard to get excited about the Green and Whites here though. Through four away matches they've lost three times and tied once, while recording three goals scored and seven goals against.

La Liga Pick

Betis has proven in the past that it can hang with the big boys, but we haven't seen much of that this season.

With the way Atletico's performing, anything other than the full three points for the home team would be a huge surprise. The Mattress Makers are playing as well as anyone in the world right now and will fancy their chances of another shutout win on Sunday.

Atletico won both meetings last season and Costa got on the score-sheet on both occasions. Look for him to be the catalyst in another win. To find better value with your soccer picks, however, you may want to consider backing a win by two or more goals.
