It should be a walk in the park for Atletico Madrid in Wednesday's Champions League fixture against Austria Wien, but that does little for us soccer bettors. Let's look at the current betting odds on offer before locking in our soccer picks for this matchup.

Anyone wondering just how hard this game is going to be for the Austrian visitors need look no further than the statistics from the game these two sides played in Vienna a fortnight ago. Needing a home win against the group favorites, Wein fell behind to an eighth minute goal, managed just one shot on target in the whole game and wound up losing 3-0 even though the Spanish side effectively gave up playing for the last half an hour.

It was, by any standards, a terrible performance and it is no surprise that Atletico are firm favorites to win this game and all but wrap up the group at the same time. Unbeaten in their last three games, just four points from this and the two matches which follow will see them through to the knockout stages. Indeed, if Porto and Zenit St Petersburg draw the other game in Group G on Wednesday, Atletico will be through with a win in this match.

The longest you will find Atletico in any soccer odds market is at 1.12, whilst Wein are way out at 34.0 with Betfair. You can get 7.0 from the likes of Ladbrokes on a repeat of that 3-0 scoreline, which is actually pretty generous given that a 5-0 outcome is only 16.0. Indeed, you can get 2.62 from William Hill on Wein even scoring, something which did look pretty unlikely in that first game and which seems even more remote at the Vincente Calderon Stadium.

In truth, Atletico look to be so dominant in this fixture that you are going to have to be bold to find any value for your soccer picks, and if you don’t like the fixed odds market then your best options are to look to Wein to at least hold out until half time before losing the second half, which gives you 5.0 at BetVictor, or to play in the ‘Opening Goalscorer’ market, where Diego Costa looks keenly priced at 3.9 with
