Even on points in the standings, Villa and Norwich square off in a crucial Premier League battle. Who are the soccer odds favoring for this one and who do we see getting the win?

Odds Overview

Villa is expected to bounce back after some shaky performances, at least that's what oddsmakers think. They've posted the Villans in the +110 to +115 range to get the three points, leaving Norwich as the +275 underdog. A draw isn't out of the question and is priced out at +235 soccer odds.

Aston Villa

The Villans failed to win a single match in the month of February, while scoring a grand total of one goal in over 360 minutes of play.

We'd have to go back to January 29th to find the last time Villa got a win and that came over West Brom (4-3) at home. The goals have all but disappeared since though, something Paul Lambert will be hoping changes this weekend.

Lambert hasn't exactly had the most enthralling impact since taking over as the boss. There have been some tidy results here and there, but the overall position of the club isn't awe-inspiring. They're languishing in 13th right now in the Premier League.

Unfortunately for the Villans, they're not exactly out of the running for a spot in the relegation zone. They're only four points clear right now and, taking their current form into consideration, that number could soon evaporate.

What we're getting at is Villa desperately needs a victory, not only for the sake of their league position but also for morale. The Villans, though, have been shocking at home, losing eight of their 13 matches outright.

Norwich City

Manager Chris Hughton, under fire for his poor leadership of the squad, was able to record a fantastic result last weekend. Norwich topped Tottenham 1-0 at home, meaning Hughton's job is safe. For now.

It was hardly a lucky result either. The Canaries put in a great shift and deserved the three points. Robert Snodgrass was influential throughout and scored with a tidy finish early in the second half, and the Norwich defense looked composed to close out the win.

With those three points, the Canaries moved up into the 14th spot in the table, even on 28 points with both Villa and Swansea City.

Norwich has been able to protect their home pitch well throughout the season, but they've been incredibly poor when outside of their comfort zone. The Canaries have logged two wins, two draws and nine losses in 12 matches away from home and have a staggeringly bad goal differential of -20.

Having scored just eight times in those fixtures, it's hard to imagine Norwich providing much of a threat on Sunday. Gary Hooper is the only member of the club who's scored more than three league goals all season.

Premier League Pick

As uninspiring as the Villans have looked, especially going forward, we do think they're well worth taking as one of our recommended soccer picks for the upcoming weekend.

Villa has produced some good results and will have the most dangerous player on the pitch in Christian Benteke.

But, the primary reason we're taking Villa is because the Canaries have been beyond bad away from home. They may have been able to get a scalp of Spurs last week, but we don't see them carrying it over into Sunday's away fixture. Side with the Villans to earn all of the available points.

Pick: Aston Villa 2 Norwich City 1
