Milan is the big name, but Hellas Verona has been performing much better in the league this season. Which team gets our recommendation in our soccer picks? Join our handicapper as he takes a look at the odds to find the value.

Odds Overview

Even with the Rossoneri's struggles, they're favored at nearly -230 to win Sunday's home match. Verona is available at an attractive price of +650, while a draw is somewhat of a longshot as well at +350 to +375 soccer odds.

AC Milan

Clarence Seedorf recently announced his retirement as an active player and has been chosen to take over as Milan's manager.

Though he obviously has no legitimate coaching experience, Seedorf's illustrious career should serve him well in the position. It's going to be a process, but we have no doubt that he'll do whatever it takes to learn his new craft.

Milan has been disastrous this season, as you can currently find them in eleventh place in Serie A. For a side that we've gotten used to seeing dominate in world soccer, it's crazy to see them so low in the standings.

The Rossoneri may be able to build off their recent 3-1 cup win over Spezia though. Robino, Giampaolo Pazzini and Keisuke Honda all scored in the victory at the San Siro, with Honda getting his first goal for his new club.

Mario Balotelli didn't feature in the victory but figures to return to the starting XI this weekend, though Sulley Muntari will be unavailable due to a red-card suspension.

Hellas Verona

Though hardly a well-known side to the casual soccer fan, the Mastiffs have been enjoying a fine start to their Serie A campaign.

At the moment you can find them in sixth place, having recorded 10 wins, two draws and seven losses through 19 fixtures while posting a goal differential of plus four.

Verona had built up quite a bit of momentum ahead of last weekend's home game against Napoli, but they completely fell apart in a 0-3 loss. It was only the team's second home defeat in the league all season.

All in all though, it's been a very promising season thus far, and Luca Toni has been at the heart of it all. The experienced striker has scored a team-leading nine Serie A goals and also leads the way with six assists. Jorginho Frello, Juan Manuel Iturbe and Romulo are also ones to watch.

Toni and company will hope to reverse Verona's fortunes away from home. They've been bad out on the road, where they've won twice, drawn twice and lost five times in nine matches. San Siro certainly isn't the easiest venue to play at either, so the Mastiffs will really have to be at their best this weekend.

Serie A Pick

It's been tough to have any faith in Milan this term, but we do think getting rid of Massimiliano Allegri, who more than outstayed his welcome, will be the start of a turnaround for the massive club.

And, even with Verona out-performing the hosts so far, we look for the Rossoneri to notch their second straight victory with another controlled performance on Sunday for our soccer pick.

Desperation is on Milan's side here. They have to start picking up points now if they want to have any chance whatsoever of making a run to near the top of the table. They have the quality to do so, but they have to win home matches like this first and foremost.
