Real Madrid have a vital game against Malaga in between their two-legged UCL quarter final. Will this affect their performance? Lee Phelps answers that and picks out his favourite soccer odds.

The La Liga title race has resumed its usual status as two horse race, with Real Madrid now seven points clear of Atletico and just two behind Barcelona, with a three goal inferior goal difference. You would have to say Barca have the harder game this weekend too, so Cristiano Ronaldo and Co are ready to pounce if their great rivals slip up.

La Liga odds board placed host Real Madrid -700 favorites with Malaga +1600 underdogs and the Draw priced at +750 at Bet365

Real Madrid
Carlo Ancelotti is currently enjoying his longest unbeaten run at the Santiago Bernabeu in La Liga; 12 wins and one draw. The biggest defeat inflicted upon Málaga in the Primera División was a 7-0 defeat to Real Madrid in Concha Espina during March 2011 when Cristiano Ronaldo bagged a hat-trick and Benzema claimed a brace.

CR7 has already equalled his record for assists in a La Liga campaign for Real Madrid (12, also in 2011-12) and has 38 goals in his 28 league games, he scored 46 in that same season. They’re not the only records from that season that are in danger. Only once in the history of Real Madrid have they scored more than 92 goals after 31 league games (100 in that season).

The Whites have also scored in their last 30 home league games; their best run since March 2010 (41), so it looks like goals are guaranteed.

The problem for the away side is those goals only look guaranteed on one side. They have lost the last three away goals, without scoring and are the fifth worst scorers on the road.

They have never won at the Bernabeu in the league, which is why they are placed as big underdogs on the soccer odds. With just two draws in 13 previous visits and have never managed a clean sheet, plus (should you need more) they have conceded goals in their last 15 trips to Madrid.

I know they beat Barcelona, but I can’t see how they can shut Madrid out at the moment and if they don’t manage that, they certainly can’t outscore them.

Soccer pick
I’m expecting goals from Real Madrid and fast goal at that. I have been looking at a goal within the first 15 minutes at a nice price, but I’m going to play safer for this soccer pick and Real to score first and that goal to be up to and including 30 minutes at 1.75 (4/6). They have done that in nine of 15 home games, they didn’t manage it against Barca or Atletico.

Malaga themselves have conceded first before the 30th minute in six of their away games too.

Free Soccer Pick: Real Madrid to score first and goal up to and including the 30th minute: 1.75 (4/6)
