Dortmund isn't in the best of form right now, which is certainly not good news with an upcoming date with Bayern Munich looming.  Will they be your soccer pick? See what sportsbooks had to say.

Odds Overview

It's always a good time whenever these two German giants meet up and this Saturday's clash shouldn't be any different.

When looking over the soccer odds, we find Bayern is the favorite despite being the away side here. They're at about +130, while hosts Dortmund is right around +200. A draw is always within reason too, which is why it's at a relatively low price of +240.

Borussia Dortmund

As we briefly touched upon up top, Dortmund hasn't been playing too well lately.

A 6-1 Bundesliga win over Stuttgart was a nice way to preface a showdown with Arsenal in the Champions League, but it was a tough battle against the Gunners, one which the German outfit ended up losing.

Credit Arsenal for showing up to play, but it's ever so rare to see a team like Dortmund fail to score at home.

The miseries continued right before the international break, with Dortmund falling 2-1 to Wolfsburg in domestic action. Marco Reus had put the visitors ahead right before halftime, but the hosts came from behind and scored twice in the second half.

It was a crushing loss, considering Dortmund is now four points behind Bayern in the Bundesliga table. Of course, that makes Saturday's encounter all the more enticing.

Bayern Munich

Let's first get this out of the way. Aside from the opening match of the season in the German Super Cup, the Bavarians have yet to lose any of their matches (in any competitions) this season.

Bayern has outright won six straight matches, which was capped off by a comprehensive 3-0 win over FC Augsburg before the break making them a very attractive pick amongst sportsbooks.

It didn't take long for the European champions to make their mark. Jerome Boateng scored in the fourth minute and, three minutes before halftime, Franck Ribery doubled the advantage. Thomas Muller added a late penalty to put a rubber stamp on proceedings.

Bayern totaled 23 shots in all, nine of which were on goal. Augsburg didn't have one registered shot on goal and only held the ball for 28 percent of the 90+ minutes. They were completely outplayed, which is so often the case when you play against the Bavarians.

Heading into Saturday, Mario Mandzukic leads the way with eight league goals, while Muller has scored five times and Ribery four (with six assists). Don't forget about Arjen Robben either, who just scored for his country against Japan and will be hoping to carry that over this weekend.

 Bundesliga Pick

We really cannot wait for this match. It involved easily the two best teams in Germany, both of whom were in the Champions League final last year (which Bayern ended up winning).

Their fantastic form has continued on to this term, but it's the Bavarians that have been the real team to beat. They're still unbeaten in Bundesliga play and are showing no signs of slowing down.

These teams have squared off once already, but it was all the way back in late July in the German Super Cup. Dortmund won that 4-2, with Marco Reus grabbing a brace and Ilkay Gundogan also finding the back of the net. Robben scored both goals for Bayern.

Will the Bavarians get some payback this weekend? That's a very real possibility, but in the end Dortmund is still an extremely good side that's hard to break down at home, so we'll take the draw with our soccer picks instead.
