It hasn't been as dominant of a league campaign for Bayern as it was last season, but the Bavarians are still in the driver's seat. Are we backing them with our soccer picks when they take on Hamburg?

Odds Overview
One look at the Bundesliga table and you'll see why Bayern Munich is such heavy chalk for Saturday's home tie with Hamburg. The soccer odds board currently shown the Bavarians favored in the range of -1000 to -1400.

That's obviously a line that doesn't offer much value. However, if you think there's any chance of an upset win by Hamburg, you can back the underdog at a price of +2500 to +3000. A draw is approaching +1000 on the board, so it's clear oddsmakers are only expecting one outcome this weekend: an easy Bayern win.

Bayern Munich
The Bavarians are back to business after a shaky week which saw them lose to Wolfsburg and then draw with Schalke at home. Considering we're used to seeing Bayern dominate pretty much every time they take the pitch, it was a little surprising to see them get only a total of one point from those two fixtures.

But, the bad times didn't last long and the Bavarians were quickly able to right the ship with a 2-0 away win over Stuttgart. Arjen Robben and David Alaba were the goalscorers in a match that had few scoring chances. As usual, Bayern dominated possession (72 percent), but they weren't able to generate too many opportunities. Fortunately they made the most of the chances they did fashion, though we shouldn't be all that surprised by Robben finding the back of the net.

As it stands, Bayern is nursing an eight-point advantage in the Bundesliga. The Bavarians are eight points ahead of second-place Wolfsburg and a whopping 15 points ahead of third place. Eight points is quite a lot, but things are close enough that Bayern knows every point is important going forward in league play.

Hamburg
The Red Shorts are currently in 12th place when we look over the Bundesliga table. They've only mustered up 23 points through a total of 20 matches, so they've had their fair share of struggles. As of now their goal differential is -8, and it figures to get much worse (before it possibly gets better) in this upcoming battle with Bayern.

Recent results should be at least somewhat encouraging and give Hamburg a little boost of confident when they need it most. They've managed two consecutive victories, beating Paderborn 3-0 away from home and then Hannover 2-1 in front of their own fans.

During a season that hasn't seen too many highs, getting a result against Bayern could go a long way, but we're not holding out much hope. If the Red Shorts, however, are to make a match of it, they'll need Rafael van der Vaart, who leads the team in goals with just four. The experienced midfielder hasn't been getting much goal support from those around him, and that's not a good sign heading into Saturday's encounter in Munich.

Don't miss our UEFA Champions League Odds Predictions & Picks for Knockout Stage

Bundesliga Pick
We should only see one result here: Bayern should stroll to another victory without much fight from Hamburg. The Bavarians are in a league of their own in the Bundesliga and they've proven that to be true again this season.

Just check out the league table and look at Bayern's home form. They've still yet to lose at home, having recorded nine wins and one draw with a goal differential of +25. Needless to say, the Bavarians have been dominant when inside Allianz Arena, and that doesn't figure to change against Hamburg.

With your soccer picks, back Bayern to win by three or more goals on their home pitch. That should give you a much better return than a straight up moneyline wager would. Good luck!

Pick: Bayern Munich 3 Hamburg 0

[/]{"component":"oddswidget", "eventId":303428, "sportsbooksIds":[43], "LineTypeId":2, "PeriodTypeId":1}[/]
