The WNBA season is only a few weeks old, but it’s getting to the point where teams have a little more offensive rhythm. Because of the disrespectful pay-gap that exists in the W, most women that play in the league are forced to go overseas to play a brutal schedule just to make a living.

That means the first few weeks of the season are always interesting. Most teams have very little practice and preseason time to get in sync. That usually leads to some rough offense at times, especially early in games.

However, we are reaching the point where the rust of not playing with teammates much in the offseason is starting to be shaken off. I think we’ll see that more from the Sky and Liberty tonight.

Chicago is off to a great start this season behind Diamond DeShields. The second-year pro already has three games of 20-plus points and with the pace that Chicago is playing at this season, it has been open season for transition buckets.

The Liberty opened the year losing their first four games because of the rust. However, they have won three of their last four games and their offense is starting to click. Over those last four games the Liberty are averaging more than 81 points per game, but their defense has really struggled over that period, allowing 102.8 points per 100 possessions. Over their last two games, the Liberty are giving up 128.9 points per 100 possessions in the first 20 minutes.

So, with a first half total of only 82.5, add the over to your plays tonight for the W. The Sky and Liberty are both playing at paces higher than 100 in the first half, so as long as shots are dropping and defense is scarce, both teams should have no problem getting into the low to mid 40s by halftime.
