We’ll be taking a look at the NBA contest tonight between Oklahoma City and Portland. Our revealing NBA betting preview article provides you with all that you need to know, and it concludes with a point-spread selection.

Thunder in “The Great Northwest”
The Portland Trailblazers will be hosting the Oklahoma City Thunder on Friday at 10:35 PM ET. The game will be televised nationally by ESPN. According to the NBA betting odds at Pinnacle, Portland is 4.5 point favorite, and the posted total is 207.0. This will be the third meeting of the season between these teams, and Portland has won each of the first two. This head-to-head series has seen eight of the last ten games stay under the total.

Rest Factor
The Oklahoma City Thunder is coming off a tough 117-113 overtime loss at Phoenix last night. That result ended a 7-0 SU&ATS streak the Thunder had attained in their previous seven games prior to last night’s defeat. This will also be the third game in the last four days, and the fifth in the last eight days for Oklahoma City. They’ll also be without the services of star forward Kevin Durant (25.4 ppg.) who will miss his fifth consecutive game due to a foot injury.

The Portland Trailblazers will be playing in just their third game in the last seven days, and all of those contests will have taken place at home. Needless to say, Portland will have a huge edge in terms of rest.

For More Betting Options Check Out These Talented Underdogs for Friday's Picks

Thunder Offense Rolling
Oklahoma City enters Friday’s game having scored 102-points in each of their previous eleven contests. They’ve seen seven of their previous ten games go over the total, and that includes their last four on the road. The Thunder has also seen four of their last five go over the number when playing with no rest. Russell Westbrook was magnificent in last night’s loss at Phoenix, scoring 39-points, raking in 14-rebounds, and dishing out 11-assists. However, he also played a team high 42:40 in last night’s game, and that will certainly be a concerning factor heading into tonight.

Strong Home Court and Defensive Play
Portland has gone a stellar 24-6 at home this season. The Trailblazers have allowed 98-points or less in each of their last five games, and has seen twenty of their thirty contests at home go under the total. Portland ranks sixth in the NBA allowing 97.2 points per game, and also fourth in field goal percentage defense holding opponents to 43.2% shooting from the field. Those defensive numbers at home improve to 93.3 points allowed, and opponents shooting a paltry 42.5% shooting from the floor.

Final Analysis
This will be a very tough spot for the Thunder as evidenced by some of the points I’ve already alluded to. There’s no sense beating a dead horse with any further analysis. I’m siding with the small home favorite as one of my NBA picks for Friday.

NBA Pick: Portland -4.5 over Oklahoma City at Pinnacle.
