Two of Italy's most famo us clubs lock horns on Sunday with both looking for points towards European football next season. William Hill's Lee Phelps is looking at the odds for his free betting pick.

Europe is the goal for both of these teams, with Lazio aiming for the Champions and Inter going for the Europa League. With four games left, Lazio are chasing down Roma, who are a point ahead in second spot, whilst keeping Napoli at bay in fourth. Inter are only three points off fifth and a Europa League spot.

Lazio
The Biancocelesti have won each of their last four home league meetings against Inter Milan (twice by 3-1, twice by 1-0). Which is why soccer odds makers placed them as a -110 favorites on the betting board for Sunday's fixture. Their domestic form at home has been excellent full stop, with the second best home record, winning 12 and drawing one of their 17 matches at Stadio Olimpico.

They have also scored the second most home goals (38) and conceded the fourth least (14). Miraslav Klose has been responsible for almost a quarter of those home goals, he has bagged nine of his 12 in front of the home supporters.

The home form is keeping Lazio going, because after eight wins in a row home and away, they have won only once in their last four league fixtures. Luckily for them they have picked up 16 points over their last six home games, scoring four goals in three of these.

If you’re looking for goal scorer bets, Lazio have scored the most goals with midfielders in this Serie A season, 43, but they are the only side yet to score via a defender.

Inter Milan
After a largely disappointing season, the fact Inter still have a realistic chance of qualifying for Europe is surprising and probably says more about the quality of Serie A than anything else.

The defensive side of things is where the improvements have been made. They were calamitous earlier in the campaign, but as Richard Hall writes on espnfc.co.uk, Roberto Mancini has changed that: “One thing that Mancini has done to start this run of form is to create a stable back four. He has worked hard on them and though individually they still make errors, as a collective they are playing well. Out of the above games there is probably no surprise that Handanovic has been involved in all six. Just look at his most recent display against Chievo, and it's obvious how important he is to the team.

In these last six games D'Ambrosio, Vidic, Ranocchia, and Juan Jesus (now expertly deployed at full-back) have all played a part in five. New signings Felipe and Davide Santon both have two appearances.”

Inter have won four of their last six league games on the road, losing just one of these and Mauro Icardi has been a key part of that upturn in form, netting five goals in his last six league appearances away from home.

Soccer Picks
If I was forced to make a soccer pick from the winners market, I’d be looking at the draw here. Inter drew at Napoli and could grind out a point too. I’m going to avoid that market for my main bet though. Instead, I’m going for a goal in the match from Klose to add to his impressive recent form and home run.
