The bookies may well be running around like headless chickens in the EPL, but your Humble Handicapper is looking at more money to be won over in the continent with Italy’s Serie A. The next match that he has his money-winning-eye on is Roma vs. Juventus. If you want to know how to make money from this one, just read on.

There was a big surprise last weekend when Catania recorded an unexpected 4-1 victory over Roma at the Stadio Angelo Massimino in Sunday afternoon's encounter. The win saw Catania move up into 19th place (on 26 points from 36 games), but Roma now know they have to settle for second spot this season, even with two more games to go. Roma have 85 points after 36 games and Juventus have 93, that means that (even discounting Juventus’s game in hand) Roma cannot overtake Juve, as they are eight points behind Juventus with just two matches remaining. It’s not just about winning the title as Juve are on course to become the first ever Serie A club to reach the 100-point mark in a single season.

Enough with what we already know…WHERE’S THE MONEY MIKE?
Juventus are going up against Atlanta on Monday night, and the bookies like them winning that one. They are at best soccer odds of ¼ to take all three points while a draw is at 6/1, and an Atlanta win is way out on 16/1. This is only really relevant as it means Juventus will likely have 96 points as they go into their penultimate game of the season with Roma.

The bookies have the basics at 6/4 for a Roma win, 7/4 on a Juve win and 12/5 on the draw. When a game of this magnitude and tightness has the draw at 12/5 it’s usually worth a cheeky bet. And if you like the sound of the half time – full time odds you should know that the best soccer odds on the game ending drawn, start with either side leading at the break. Both Roma/Draw and Juventus/Draw are at best soccer odds of 14/1.

Scores on the draws
While you Humble Handicapper can see either side coming back, and tying the game, he can’t see either side coming from behind, and winning the match. Avoid Roma/ Juventus at 28/1, and Juventus/Roma at 25/1.

Looking at the last five head-to-head meetings between these two sides, the home side has always come out on top, and they have won to nil four times. Therefore you may like to back Roma winning to nil at 4/1 (Juventus winning to nil is at 5/1).  But if you’re that way inclined back Roma winning 1-0 at 10/1 or 2-0 at 14/1, because your Humble Handicapper can’t see Juventus conceding three or more goals.

Your Humble Handicapper reckons that it’s more likely that both sides will score, as they have amassed 147 goals between them this season, and the bookies seem to agree as they have both sides to score at best soccer odds of 8/13. It's important to look at all the details before placing your soccer picks.
