Inter Milan
Once again it hasn't been the most prolific of league campaigns for the Nerazzurri, but they have at least made improvements from last year.

After finishing in ninth in Serie A in 2012/13, Inter currently resides in sixth place, though they're 11 points back of the third and final Champions League spot. It looks like the Europa League is in the Nerazzurri's future, that is if they can hold on to their current position.

Sunday's 2-1 home loss to Atalanta didn't exactly help their cause. Mauro Icardi equalized for Inter immediately after the visitors went ahead and had a golden opportunity to get another goal. He couldn't convert and Atalanta got the match-winning goal from Giacomo Bonaventura in the 90th minute.

It was a disastrous result for a side that had numerous chances to take hold of the match and get all three points. Instead, there was nothing to show for the hard work, which has indeed been a common theme for Inter this season.

One thing going for them, aside from Rodrigo Palacio's goalscoring form (13 league goals) has been their performances at home. They've recorded seven wins, six draws and two defeats heading into Thursday.

Udinese
The Bianconeri, despite a largely disappointing campaign, actually come into this match in rather good form.

It started after Udinese's 3-0 away loss to Cagliari. That seemed to light a fire under the team, as they came out and beat AC Milan 1-0 a week later. That was followed by a tough 3-2 away loss to Roma and then a recent 1-0 home victory over Sassuolo.

Against Sassuolo, Antonio Di Natale once again made the difference. His first-half goal was the deciding factor, with the Bianconeri's defense holding strong. Di Natale also had a chance to make it 2-0, but couldn't convert from the penalty spot. Fortunately it didn't matter.

It was Di Natale's 10th league goal of the season, with no other Udinese player having scored more than four times. Indeed a lack of quality in front of net has plagued the Bianconeri, who have scored just 33 times in 29 league matches overall.

What's more, Udinese's away form has been terrible. They have three wins, two draws and 10 losses through 15 fixtures, scoring 16 goals while allowing in 27. That has to be worrying Bianconeri supporters ahead of this trip to the San Siro.

Serie A Pick
We will be looking for a narrow win for Inter on Thursday for our soccer picks.

For one, the Nerazzuri have proven mighty tough to be at home, where they've only lost two times in their league campaign so far. Then you've got an Udinese side that's been dreadful away from home, losing 10 out of 15 matches outright.

Inter has built a little cushion in sixth place and don't want to make things interesting by letting points get away here. We expect a hard-fought win out of Walter Mazzarri's side.

Soccer Pick: Inter Milan 2 Udinese 1
