Seattle takes on Sporting KC at CenturyLink Field on Sunday and its strong home record should help it secure all three points.

Sporting KC has lost its last two games, slumping to a 2-0 home defeat against FC Dallas and then leaving empty handed from a trip to the Big Apple. That could have knocked its confidence ahead of this game against Seattle Sounders.

Brian Schmetzer’s team sits second in the Western Conference table, 13 points clear of Sporting KC, which is third from bottom and unlikely to reach the playoffs. Seattle has won eight, drawn to and lost just one of its 11 games at CenturyLink Field this season. That solitary defeat came in its last home game, which it lost 2-1 to Portland Timbers. However, that result can be excused, as the Seattle players were fatigued after playing a friendly against Borussia Dortmund four days previously. Portland also has the second best away record in the MLS, making it a road trip specialist.

Otherwise, Seattle’s home form has been close to impeccable. In fact, only MLS Cup favorite LAFC boasts a stronger home record in the entire league. Sporting KC has been pretty poor on the road, having lost five of 11 away games. It also has a dire record at CenturyLink field: it has lost its last two visits here, and it has not tasted success in Seattle since March 2016.

The Sounders really should be able to win this game. They bounced back to winning ways with a 1-0 victory in Houston last time out, which should do wonders for their confidence levels. Seattle forward Jordan Morris is in fine form, while Nicolas Lodeiro brings a great deal of creativity to the team’s offense. If Schmetzer’s men can keep Johnny Russell quiet then they should seize all three points on Sunday evening.

Pick: Seattle to win at -105 with Bet365
