Saturday WNBA Picks of The Day: Pair of O/U Plays

Jordan’s WNBA Picks 27-31-1

Chicago Sky at Atlanta Dream

The Chicago Sky continue to play lax defense on the road and that has become even more profound when they play on the road and in the first halves of those road games. Chicago is allowing 117.2 points per 100 possessions in the first haves of their road games and now they are faced with yet another tough road test in Atlanta.

The Dream’s season has not gone to plan, because they too have had issues on the defensive end. Atlanta is allowing 101.4 points per 100 possessions in the first halves of their home games and their pace actually jumps a little at home in the first half as well.
We’ve seen this total skyrocket since it opened and while the line isn’t as good as it was last night or this morning, I still feel good about the over here. Chicago’s offense is good enough to take advantage of the Dream’s lack of size and defense, while the Chicago defense is so bad, that even the Dream should be able to drop 40 points on them in the first half.

My Pick: OVER 1H

Las Vegas Aces at Dallas Wings

The biggest injury news on the slate is the Aces will be without Liz Cambage in this one. It’s officially being called rest, but its suspicious it’s coming on the date where Cambage was set to return to face the team and fans she demanded a trade from just a few months ago.

With A’ja Wilson still out as well, the Aces are going to have to work hard to win this one on the road. However, that could mean their defense comes to play even more on Saturday.

The Aces own the league’s best defense and it seems to be getting better with every game. Even without their two bigs tonight, the Aces have the depth to compete on defense against a Dallas team that also struggles to score. Dearica Hamby and Tamera Young have both played well lately and they should be adequate fill-ins tonight.

With the Wings averaging just 91.3 points per 100 possessions this season and with their defense improving as well, I think we can bet the under on this one pretty confidently. The WNBA Odds have been shrinking since they opened, but there is a good chance that both these teams end up with only around 60 points tonight.

My Pick: UNDER
